Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I've been doing this since I was 17, I'm now 47 and I've had 30 surgeries in the last 18 years.
I don't think I'll ever be a "Success Story" the universe decided to take my crap body and see exactly how many diseases/illnesses they can cram into it before it gives up. lol Its getting pretty close.
Welcome to the Board, hope you find much support and many great folks here!
Take care,
K
Going through all this for 30+ years and having so many surgeries must have been so difficult, I cant even imagine. I think you are a success, being here and giving support to people like me is amazing even after so much.
Thank you for sharing your story.
My energy is also very limited so I can relate to that. It's tough getting through the day sometimes. Going to dialysis forces me out.
I did start an exercise(very low key) class some months ago. It has been a good experience. Sure I come home and pass out until the next day sometimes but at least I got there. I find that slowly building up some strength has been good for me.
My husband broke up with me a year ago. Since then I have had to do everything on my own. Sometimes it gets to be too much but I manage. Cause that's all we can do. But I do get wishing your life would end. I feel that way at times. But until I make the decision to quit dialysis or end my own life I have to get up and get through the day. So I try to find some quality in my day.
It's hard to not focus on everything that is bothering you especially when it's physical. But we have to learn to get outside of our heads and try to find some pleasure in our day. I am working hard to get back to that right now.
I worked really hard to ge back to function and now I am working almost full time, I dropped my shitty relationship and now live alone with my kids. Rented a house and digging out of debt.
My health will never be good and I will be on pain meds for the rest of my life, but at least I can work.
