Thanks, Cathy. The first one has blown through my town and wasn't as bad as where my 3 boys are. Only one is in a damned campground, surrounded by big trees. The other 2 are, most likely, working in my oldest son's sporting goods store.

I texted 2 of them and haven't gotten a response, yet. They think I worry needlessly. They don't understand that it's my JOB!!!

Make coffee! That is always the first thing that I do, well tea to be totally honest - coffee is too strong for my tummy.

Then I fill the tub with water.
Take out the candles. Put fresh batteries in the flashlights, gather my emergency stash of meds, bottled water, coke, and leash all animals and tie them to me.

We are a real sight sitting in the lowest part of my house that has no windows or doors.

I'm so sorry your beautiful state has gone through so much. I lived in western Mass. for5 years and I camped in Vermont alot.Back when I could=I have very happy memories of Vermont :)
Hope your boys text you back and as a Mom of a daughter 32 and a son 27, yes it is our JOB!!!

It looks fairly calm, now. I'm not sure exactly when the 'real' storm that's predicted will start. It seems I missed the full force of this last one...still haven't heard from my boys! Ungrateful little shits! lol

Ok...just got the latest from the weather channel. The flash flood watch starts at 8:00 tonight through Tuesday. Three or more inches of rain that we don't have a place for!

I'll be fine. I worry more about the parts of VT that are still flooded, washed out and without power.

The National Weather Service has now put out a *SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH* for all of VT and northern NY until 11 PM. More thunderstorm activity will be developing for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening and overnight hours. Expect more storms with locally heavy downpours, strong wind gusts, small hail and frequent lightning. -

I just, this afternoon, got internet back and only got my power back just before midnight Friday night! That was 6 days without electricity, water, etc. Seemed like an eternity! I was on vacation this week-Ha! I do thank God and His infinite kindness for keeping the weather beautiful and dry- couldn't imagine having to struggle through the week without the benefit of fans or air conditioners! I'm finally feeling somewhat re-connected but exhausted from emptying out the fridge and freezer of all the food (EVERYTHING had to go!) and the mountains of laundry to do! Hope everyone else made out alright. Gunna go and soak in a nice hot bath- again! Take care all, xoxoLyn

the rain and storms are headed our way starting tonight. I hope your son is ok honey. Me and the husband leave for charleston tomorrow for my appointment at MUSC tuesday. We figured we may see some sights before the doctors appointment. I hope its not too bad. I hate driving/riding in a car with bad weather. It tears my nerves up.
