Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
There are lots of things that you can do to lessen this type of pain. Some natural or herbal remedies. Some OTC meds like pamprin. And some prescription. The most common cure is birth control pills because they regulate the hormones.
You mention going to the doctor. But have you gone to a gynecologist? I would suggest finding a female because they tend to be more understanding. But you also have to be willing to accept that this is what is wrong and want to feel better. The mind is the most powerful organ in our bodies and it can convince our bodies that cures don't work or that the pain is worse than it really is. You might want to look into some counseling programs to teach you ways to use your brain to overcome the pain.
I think you need to go the gyno too. I think you need to be checked out for endometriosis. You say that you are cramping all the time and it's worse when you are having your periods. There are other things it could be, but that's what comes to my mind first.
Are your periods heavy? Also try staying away from gassy foods as this will only make it worse. No soda!
I wish you well and hope you get answers soon.
Hugs,
Toni
The tests are only about 80% accurate. So if I was you, I would try a gluten free diet and see if you feel better. It could take a couple months but I am guessing that you'd rather feel better.
Until you track down the cause, perhaps getting your primary care physician to refer you to a pain management specialist would be worthwhile. Your PCP can document the severity and longevity of your pain, and the pain management doc can get you some relief for the pain until you can address the underlying causes.
I can empathize with you about abdominal pain - spending your life with the feeling of a knife in your guts is no way to live!! I hope you find some relief.
