Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
True friends are like treasures, they should be safe-guarded and cherished!
My best friend since the age of ten, lives several states away, but we IM every day. Within a year of meeting her, she developed Type 1 Diabetes and I saw the decline over many years. In order to visit, she'd have to have dialysis appts. set up in advance at the teaching hospital I have mentioned. I would driver her and we'd catch up on our friendship during the hours of the treatment. Several years ago, she had a double transplant and has done well except for the damage that was already done. Now she worries about me and wants to know everything that's happening with my health. We both miss having coffee together so we do it online!
My local friends aren't around, anymore. I can't go for a 'girls night out' or kayaking or camping...what fun am I?
So you, my dear friends, are my sisters!
Many hugs of gratitude,
Cherry
I know what others are speaking of by having the loss of women friends that were supposedly true and for life as many of us have gone through that after finding out we not only have CP but also if we can no longer work or go out like we used to, we then find out who our true friends are but even tho that was so sad when it 1st happened, it turned out to be such a blessing as that's when I met others who are true friends that understand and don't care if I have to say no bc either they too suffer in pain or if not, they care enough to know not to allow a true friend to go through this alone.
I agree we are family here & that makes us true friends.
It's part of a journey we never asked to go on yet there are good experiences on this painful ride too; the best being finding some really great friends like never before.
Hugs, Rhonda
