The only thing that gets me more than the pain is the W H Y ? ? ? Why do you feel sick for 3-4 day and then the pain? What is going on inside you that is causing this pain and why is pain like an epidemic in this country???

I am sorry you are suffering. I too wish you could just have a day where you felt like yourself before the pain. Just a regular old person going about their day, pain-free. Everyone deserves a little of that :) I try to never give up hope that it could happen...I hope it happens for you. xo khadi

thanks yes I want that too , I know because of the accident and screwed up surgery in my spine I am lucky to be walking again. Instead of still in wheelchair in pain. But it sucks. I would like one day I can go walk around a store go out for coffee with friends. Hell even just snuggle with hubbie would be great. Thanks for all the love and emypathy love ya casey

I totally get you! I can't move without stabbing, burning pain 24 hrs a day! Last December, I stopped Pain Management on my own using herbal meds, primarily medical marijuana, CBD oil (which seemed to help) and started eating healthy and was able to walk or ride my bike every day. I lost 15 lbs and got my Diabetes under control. I was in a car accident a few months ago and didn't feel any pain at first. I'm 59 yrs old & overweight. I have spinal stenosis, herniated discs throughout my entire spine. Osteoarthritis & Rheumatoid arthritis. My left knee needs replaced and I have bursitis in both hips and recently went to ER for excruciating pain in my shoulder, neck and arm. Diagnosis: nerve compression/ radioapulthy. Doctor at hospital prescribed a few 5mg Oxycodone and about 10 10 mg Valium. I haven't slept over two hrs a day since May 1st. I'm in such pain it matters not which position I try to sleep in, it's unbearable.

I didn't want to have to depend on episode's for pain again but I see no way out. I have no quality of life! I can hardly take a shower for fear the pain will cause a fall.
Pain Management appointment at 9:30 am. THANK GOD!!!!

I hear you I am scared to bath incase I cannot get out of bath, so I shower which isn't that same as soaking in a tub . good luck at doctor we have a cream the gabapentine and ketamine it's a rx from pain neurologist . Good luck with doctor I hear you hugs Casey

Casey - its hard what your going through - being afraid of shower is understandable i don't until sister is here- i don't trust myself with ankle injury--- hang in there it will get better ((hugs)) polar

Fatigue is a common side effect of many drugs. If you take more than one drug. that has fatigue as a side effect. The fatigue is much worse. Also not being active causes fatigue.

@Hummingbird....Unfortunately narcotics don't do much for Nerve pain. Its good that your being as active as you can with all that you're dealing with. Have you talked to your Dr. about a compounding cream to put on topically. These often help more or have your tried Lidocaine patches?

Ketamine in any form isn't used as actively outpatient in the U.S. especially in combination with a Narcotic and Valium, so that probably isn't something you could get easily, but there are other meds used. Have you tried any of the Nerve medications like Lyrica or Neurontin?

I have Peripheral Neuropathy and I use a combo of Votaren Gel and Lidocaine pads and they help. It doesn't go away, but it makes it more tolerable.

I have a voltaren , lidocaine cream and also a ketamine gabapentine cream. I take 600 mgs of Neurontin or gabapentine a day. Without I can't control the burning pain. The narcotics I use for my spine injury pain from my spine accident.
they are testing me for ms and lyme disease. But I looked up some side effects of fentanyl patches, if your body accepts the medication to quickly then it doesn't control your pain and you can get some of the same side effects. big thing is the aching all over nausea , and freezing all the time. So weird after having years of hot flushes with menopause to to hysterectomy from cancer. The voltaren is good for arthritis but not fibro. I tried Lyrica was allergic to it. Plus they are checking to see if cancer marking are gone or . showing in my body.I am trying medical marijuana but it is very expensive her 10 grams of medical marijuana cost 75 dollars, by the time you tax and courier it's 100 bucks. Dear Hummingbird, I can so relate to your issues! I live in constant/ chronic pain where I feel of level of 5 a blessing. Unfortunately, I tend to overdo it and pay for the next few weeks- a vicious cycle. The depression of what my life used be like really gets me down. Forcing myself to take things in moderation, regular exercise and a healthy diet are crucial to my well being. Don't get me wrong here, I did sit on that pitty pot quite often but don't linger as I used to, I have much to be grateful for. Talk with others who understand where you are coming from.
