Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Second....really not the sun-burn part.
Are you making a play for my queen of stupid title?
Luv/hugs...jc
I hope you have a safe journey back. Is there any way you can squeeze some of the aloe vera into a sandwich bag or something, or buy a small bottle of water, empty it and put the gel inside? Just wondering.
Gentle hugs,
Jenna
I grew up in San Diego and virtually lived at the beach. I also fell asleep a few times in the heat (overcast was always the worst culprit!).
When I got REALLY burned, besides the aloe vera plant my mom always had, she used apple cider vinegar to take the burn out. It worked every time. The pain was no longer there!
Whatever you decide to do, I hope you find some relief!
my first day at the pool last week i burned bad...it hurt like hell for two days but i used the aloe with lidocain and it help-ed
using the vinager is a must, you stink but it pulls the burning out
miss talking to you...hope you feel better!!!!!!!

I know all too well what a severe sun burn feels like. My "stupid" story is when I was 19 yrs old (many moons ago) and I was planning a trip to Florida. I wanted to get a tan before I went so that I wouldn't burn during my vacation, however, like you, I fell asleep on my stomach at our local swimming pool. The burn was so severe that as soon as I got home, I passed out and ended up having enormous blisters. Literally, sheets of my skin eventually peeled off. I felt so stupid for allowing myself to fall asleep. Needless to say, I had to take care of a very bad sunburn while in Florida and stayed indoors with the air conditioning most of the time.
Hope you feel better real soon! Gentle Hugs,
Carrie
Sorry about the Vit D overdose, at least you will look super healthy, tanned n relaxed .... 8-) Hopes it feels better soon....
Bet your son is gonna be excited to give you a belated Mommy Day Hug.....
Thanks guys, I have never heard of using apple cider vinegar to take the heat away... and I live in the Sunshine state of Aus...... he he the ole frog learns everyday.....
Healing hugs Thali....
The aloe vera worked well, I'm awfully dehydrated and can barely see to type this I'm so tired so please forgive typos. If my stomach will settle I can get some sleeo, but my knees are so burned that they won't bend right (I sleep on my side with knees up) and it feels like I don't have enough skin. To top it off my foot and leg are truly burning with RSD and I have to run to bathroom every 5 minutes! If I take Immodium, I will get so constipated that I'll worry about THAT, so it's best just to let it all work itself out, I guess.
As many ties as I've been to Cancun, and this time it happened with sunblock at the hotel pool. I never even went in the water! (if it's not warm enough, it sets off my foot.)
I feel about 100 years old right now. Mexico is a great place for vacations, but when I'm going for a meeting then have extra time, I seem to get bored and then this happens. I WISH it had been a vacation- I missed my son on Mother's Day. We've got to get him a passport so we can take him there sometime. We need a family vacation. Haven't had one since right before he was born- almost 3 years now.
I'm so shaky- I sure hope this passes by tomorrow! I can handle the pain if I must but the stomach stuff...too much. If I drink water, it goes right through me, and if I don't I'm shaky and sick. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. I SO wish those sleeping pills she gave me last month had worked! I could've used one while there, and one right now! But Lunesta is not for me. I miss Ambien. At least I knew I'd get some sleep out of it!
Home sweet home!
Gentle hugs.
Now I'm literally frightened of the sun. I never liked it much anyway, unless it was a vacation or there was a pool or river or sea nearby. I spend so much of my time in the basement here that I'm probably making myself an easy target. But I'm allergic to so much outside, and it's only May.
Ugh, time to deal with the scabbed lips. My chest is bubbling up- and my DH says my back is almost purple. I said he must be color blind! ;)
Thanks for the great memory! :)
i really feel for you!
