Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

What level did they implant the SCS. I haven't made it to picture but will go after this. Do you have any friends who have had this procedure. There used to be a few members who had the SCS implanted.
Wishing you a balance of pain control. I expect you will be working with the different settings and your tech person should be checking in by phone.

Hoping for a fast, relatively easy recovery.
And... great results.
Hugs

And as JanCam said follow directions...
when trial is over your surgeon will want to know how it worked...so lets pray a good report comes from you...hugs
Thanks for the update. I have been thinking of you . STill got my fingers crossed for you.
Hope your day at home is a good one.
Hippie- I am finding it hard not to bend, but I'm ok not twisting or lifting. It's definitely interesting with 3 little girls, 2 dogs & a husband who doesn't understand chronic pain. I believe they said L1 & L2, and I think they were implanted at an angle. My Medtronic rep has/will call every day. He's awesome!!!
Jan- I'm trying to be as compliant as possible. I really want this to work.
Bill- I am pretty confident this will help :) I've got lots of happy thoughts (just cursing my incision sites lmao)
Nessa- I had half day at home, visited my best friend/neighbor 2 houses down, then we went to a local Mexican restaurant I've never been to with her & another friend. BUT NO BLT (Bending lifting twisting) Now I'm sitting straight up with an ice pack.
This trial is removed thursday, then surgery 30 days out for my current incisions to heal. I pray tomorrow is better, I'm hurting but SMILING! I love you all, thanks for listening to me & caring so much! You have all been vital in dealing with all my chronic pain issues.
That bending......well how does one pull there bottoms up.?
Really..do you just throw on a dress. then there are shoes.
I have some ideas when you have the implantation. I will get with you
before then.
The ice will help just short intervals.

I really hope the SCS brings you the relief that you so need. I've had nine back surgeries so I understand all to well how hard it is not to bend, twist or lift over 5 ib's. This will sound silly but if you stick a pie pan or something of that size down the front of your pants & even behind as well, it will condition you in a big hurry to not bend at the waist/hips & instead bend with your knees. I hope the next 48hrs brings you much pain relief before they take it out and you need to give them an answer. Lifting you up in prayer and sending gentle hugs.
Love, Hugs & God Bless
Lisa
Prayers and healing thoughts for a quick recoup.
If you do the pie pan front and back put up a pic, that is a great idea. :)
I double what JC said, follow directions.
Warm hugs-RJ
Went well! Can you tell any difference? It may hurt at insertion site because they put in a LOt of lidocaine inside. Can you feel any difference in your legs at all?
I'm not exactly sure there are incision sites on the trial, just wires sticking out of my spine, that are sutured in. My leg still feels good, and my back still hurts like a SOB- BUT I'm happy. Now everyone sing Pharell's song in your head...
I have done well with "squatting" per se, instead of bending. I had to have my husband put my boots on this AM, it was a test of pride for me to have to ask LOL.
