Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
if you're able to exercise, i found that helped a lot b/c it strengthen the muscles that support the spine.
wish you the best.
in short, my spine is a curled/curved up mess. I didn't have all these dx's until the last few years, the roto was just "noticed" this year.
Surgery of any kind was never an option because of the severe degeneration of the disks (DDD) , for me, the surgical risk was greater than not having it.
I was able to get epidural steroid inj. up until early this year that did give me major relief, one time it was for almost 2 yrs. This last round was the end of them though, the disks have collapsed toothe extent that needle will no longer "fit" in.
There's one tiny spot in my sacral area still open that we are going to try them in to see if it will remotely help the lumbar portion.
My right hip is elevated to the degree a brace can't stay in proper position, one shoulder is more prominent/higher than the other causing
bra problems and my "dowager's hump" is becoming more noticeable each year:(
I have OA in there along with most of my joints, most recently, my knuckles.
I'm luckier than most though, the CP didn't really manifest much until after my 60's had begun....at least I had a good long life before things
went this far "south".
Hope today is a low pain day for everyone....
Noodle, one of my shoulders sits higher than the other, too. I remember taking muscles relaxants for my back as early as in my late 20's.
As I said, I'm a lucky one, until it literally started turning for the worse, I managed fine on anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants.
I had the original scoliosis dx back in my 40's but it was very minor and I was told it would be years b4 it would be a problem and that's just the way it worked out.
The rotoscoliosis was just recently "noticed", apparently it progresses fairly slowly as compared to the other two but it had never been mentioned in the past but it must have already been there, it didn't just suddenly materialize in 5 mos.
I do wonder how many cp'ers do have it and been mis-dx'd:(
