I have this done on Thursday. At this point, it seems to have done nothing. I do not know how this could happen, but it I am very disappointed and sad, It just seems like nothing can stop the pain. I am so tired of pain. Is there any chance it will get better in a few days or is it a deal where if it hasn't helped yet, then it didn't work?

I'm not sure, but it didn't work for me either. I don't understand why it didn't work either because they used fluoroscopy and I KNOW they did the right nerve - so it SHOULD have worked - so this just blew my mind when it didn't work.

I would think you would have seen SOME difference by now. I'm sorry you're still hurting. I've been in agony for 25 years - up until recently with my doc and I found the treatment that works. I'm now on the Fentanyl patch along with Methadone - and this stops the pain!!! My right leg doesn't hurt at ALL - and that has been KILLING me for 25 years. I just cannot believe it. It's beyond my comprehension! LOL Trouble is, now I can feel all the other areas that hurt, that I couldn't feel before. LOL

Bless your heart, I hope and pray that you too find something that will work. Maybe the stuff that I'm on with work for you. I wrote to a doctor who gave me this idea - she said these 2 drugs work for problem patients. Best of luck and God bless. Hugs, Lee

What is RF ablasion? I haven't hear of that one. what condition do you have? I understand the wanting to be out of pain, I had many procedures that didn't work so I understand your disappointment. don't give up, maybe you will find something that will finally help. I hope so!!!

I totally understand your sadness and frustration. I had rf ablation, and many other procedures, in my neck about a year ago and none of them worked for me eithe and I am also so weary of the pain.
I want to add that I was was told the ablation could take up to 4-6 weeks to get the full benefit from it, so there's still hope that you may still get some relief, even if I or Leeall didn't.

ps I have a question for Leeall - can you function and drive on the fentanyl patch and methadone?

I've had at least three procedures done and many nerve blocks. It's Radio Frequency Nerve Ablasion. They basically burn the nerves. Pretty much putting a bandaid on a broken leg, but it did help. It hurt more before it got better. I have had them done in 4-6 month intervals. After about 3-4 days I could move my head side to side and feel less pain.

It didn't do anything good for me. It hurt like crazy and now my neck hurts all the time and it didn't before, I have heard both good and bad but it didn't work for me. The doc's day they are giving up and now just resorting to meds. I had all the surgery and nerve blocks they can do with no relief. It makes me very sad. I try to keep doing positive action, but it is a bummer.
