This question is for Aronia, or anyone who understands blood pressure issues. I have recenty discovered that my blood pressure is reaching stroke levels when standing up, but can be completely nornal when sitting. Even with Lisinopril and Clonidine I still get 140/150 over 90/100 blood pressure upon standing, but it will actually be normal/low when sitting. If I over-medicate in order to get the standign BP down to 110/80 which it what it will be when I add another dose of Clonidie before work, it will drop to 89/50 100/60 when I come back home and sit down on the couch. It's kind of tricky to regulate. When I was checked at the ER, my BP was 170/120 standing and then went down to 116/76 and stayed there for three hours until I stood up and it show right back up again. This is all documented. I know it isn't white coat hypertension because it happens at home. I have had diastolic reading of up to 150 on several occasions and my doc claims that my OMRON meter is good and accurate. He hands them out at his practice. I finally met tiwh a cardiologist who completely dismissed my standing blood pressure and says that normally people have a drop in blood pressure when they stand. He wouldn't even check my BP when standing becaus emy sitting BP was perfect. He has sent me for a eco ho the heart and maybe a stress test just because I have diabetes, but he will not address my standing BP. I don't know who else to talk to about is. Even my GP has merely labeled it as liable BP. But I think this has been going on for many years. I think it is the reason why I have been continuing to complain about shortness of breath and breathing problems and even being tested for SLE Lupus. I also was blaming all of these weird symptoms on my previous blood clots when it has been high BP when standing. I can remember specific days where I was feeling sick and unwell and could barely tolerate standign up and I now know it was high BP. I had the same unwell feeling the very day the Rhuemy told me in a harsh tone that there is nothing wrong with me because my labs came back normal. I'm afraid one day my BP will go wonky and just cause a stroke. Sometimes I have headaches and BP is normal and blood sugar is normal. Other times I have headaches and it is high BP. I can't sit around all day and check my BP. Most days I just take my meds and never check unless I feel unwell. I also notice that I urinate every 20 minutes when standing. I work as a janitor alone with no supervisor, so I can get away with frequent bathroom breaks. No one is watchign me. I have never had this before. I do not urinate much when sitting. I think my kidneys are taking a hit when I stand. Any how, have any of you ever heard about this kind of thing happening?
So planning on doing the radioactive iodine soon. Any suggestions on what to do for 3 days in isolation?
