Pinks surgery update

Got home yesterday evening... Was very sick from anesthesia & I've got terrible headaches whenever I stand, which the hospital said I might need blood patches (leaking spinal fluid) if they don't stop. My leg feels great... Just very sore at incision sites. I hope these headaches go away, it's awful!

Oh, dear! Headache needing bloodatch would mean they puntured your soine, dangit. I had the worst headache of my life from that happening while getting injections in my spine.
Poor you. Damn it. If you're not feeling better very soon.. I'd call and tell them you want the patch.
I decided to wait it out.. and.. it was quite a long wait.
Plus..you could wait and still end up needing it.
Sorry you had this gkitch.

So glad your surgery is over. Headaches are the worst. Do you think you got dehydrated? Not being able to eat or drink for many hours could trigger a really bad headache.Get rest in but try to get more fluids down. (just a thought).

Surgery is over so I am glad that stress is out of the way. Hang in there. I do hope that Jancam's theory is not true, but glad she gave you a possible issue to talk to your doctor about.

I'm assuming they told you to lay flat on your back as much as possible for the headache?
Did they give you fiorinol/fioricet for it?

.. it could just be from the anesthesia ( like a hangover)
But.. the fact that standing makes it worst..
Pretty indicative of a puncture :-(

Pink I am glad your surgery is over. I hope your headache is from the anesthesia and nothing else. Just lay down flat like Jc says and don't wait too long before calling the doc. Better safe than sorry.

Pink, your surgery staff told you what you need to do. If the headaches continue go to the ER. The blood patch would stop the pain! This is all you need! I hope you don't have to go. Hugs, Dianna
