Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. Great post.
We should keep that in mind before coming down hard on the doctors.

Time is changing. I know she is concerned about prescribing my pain meds. My script now has a refill stating 30 Day. In the past I could fill early within a few days. It is clear to me that the DEA is involved with
physcians decisions on treating their patients. I feel sorry for the doctors. They now have to fight insurance with all the extra paperwork and the DEA.
My PM is not happy with the changes at all & I don't blame him. He also explained how some patients go to other doctors & do not go over the meds they are on & are prescribed other drugs that do not mix with the CP meds. He often is the one getting the blame when the patient knows all meds are to be disclosed. There is more going on then we realize.

If someone dies from taking something they shouldn't, too bad, so sad. You can't legislate morality. People will do what they want anyway. The abusers will always find a way to get their fix. Why punish everyone for the actions of a few?
