Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I am sorry that you are hurting so much, I do so understand painful periods, I have excessively heavy bleeding with lots of pain when I was younger.
Sometimes a heating pad on my lower stomach helped relieve some of the pain, or at least make it bearable. I had better luck with ibuprofen than I did the other over the counter pain relievers.
Have you discussed any of this unusual bleeding with a doctor, I really would encourage you to do so, it does seem excessive and perhaps could be treated and eliminated. Good Luck.
This will sound funny, but it worked when I had my periods and pain. I had alot of pain and I would get in bed on my hands and knees and lay my head down and put my butt up in the air. It takes that pressure off.
The dr verified this as a good thing to do. It actually takes the pressure off of the uterus.
Best Wishes
Periods every 2 weeks is not normal so call your gyno or gp.
Tabby you've been having a horrible time lately. Are you seeing a pain management doctor? I'll be praying for you to feel better soon. Please update when you can.
Healing hugs,
Marci
It is something we just have to deal with and find ways to make it through.
Your profile says you are 22 years old, to me and the rest of society, you are an adult. If you are bleeding every 14 days you could be anemic. Please, see your Gynocologist immediately, and take his/her recommendation. It's your decision, not your moms!!!
I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. I just hate to see somebody in pain if they don't have to be.
Good luck to you, and BIG HUGS!!!
I too had bad periods but was lucky that my mom let me go on birth control pills at 12 to regulate my periods because one would end and a few days later I'd start again. I was unblessed enough to start at 9.
Having periods that often did make me anemic.
(sorry about bad spelling, I not having a good night tonight myself with pain...and can't think of some words or how to spell them right.)
You really need to consult a gynocologist, we did and he really was able to help me a lot, but even then it took time, trial and error, etc.. to help get some relief.
That said, my gyno told me that if I bled heavier than a long thick overnight pad completely filled in less than one hour it was considered too heavy of bleeding, and I needed to go to the emergency room. I never bled quite that badly, but would fill an overnighter in just a few hours, which he said was fine.(sure didn't feel fine!)
Hot baths help a whole lot, I would then shower when I was done. I think I would have lived in the bathtub if I could have during the bad times. I also used heating pad, water bottle, butt up in air (also helped in pregnancy by the way), and anything else that I'd try and made me feel better. Sometimes getting into a good book or movie, tv show etc that really held my attention would help distract me from the pain for a little bit.
Gentle hugs and I hope it's already eased up some as it's been a few days since your post. I just had to answer as I've been there done that, wish I could forget it! I just forget the more important things now like where I put my reading glasses, or purse, or keys...lol
