Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Do you meditate? Many times breathing deeply will allow more O2 to arrvie at the deep tissues and help them heal better.
I could not walk when docs finally admitted that I was actually sick with something. I got much better with the GF diet. But still in much pain.
I started meditation and singing lessons to increase the O2. That has healed a lot.
You can pick up a CD to guide meditation. There is no wrong way to do it.
Are you still seeing a therapist? It sounds like you really need someone to talk to about your past and about the pain that you have now. I hope that you'll consider getting back in with a Pdoc or therapist soon.

I am sorry you are in pain and in particular you didn't have the right therapist. Not all therapist are created equal just like physcians. The good, the bad and the ugly are in very profession.
Sunny was right about meditation. I cannot take anything that directly impacts my pain. It is the feeling of glass exiting from my neck to my knees so I have learned meditation, deep breathing and visualization. The only way I can get through the day.
I hope you PCP will help you get through this pain.
Hugs,
Joanne
Good Luck!
Seems my imagination is only capable of creating wierd symptoms that mimic seratonin storm, withdrawal or a chemical imbalance that aren't worth looking into.
I have a slew of wonderful relaxation tracks, most though are the guided ones, like imagine being in a lush, peaceful forest/meadow and similar things. .I end up frustrated because I can't "visualize" the peaceful scene:(:(
The ones I have without the talking are soothing to a point but don't quite get me relaxed enough to ease the pain. I do the breathing ones that help for a while but before too long, I'm back where I was:(:(
I play those all night via my Kindle to help me get some measure of "restful" sleep b4 the pain nails me.
I have several programs to convert videos to mp3's and such but, as I said, I just can't do the visualization.
Thank you for any suggestions.
Hope everyone will have a "comfy" day.....
@ Noodle: I really like one particular lady (Jody Whiteley) who does guided meditation on youtube; she has some with visualization and some without. Let me find a few that don't include any, and I'll send them to you in a message.
as for the pain, i definitely think that you should continue to look for physical causes - i'm in no way suggesting your pain is all psychological. keep meeting with your doctor to find out what's causing it. and good luck!
The Therapist you saw last time was a Pdoc a Psychiatrist, that's the only way they could have put you on meds and had you committed and if I remember right, you were pretty messed up mentally back then...you've come a long way. Not all Therapists are cut from the same cloth, it's not always find the one that fits right the first time. You seem to have a lot of problems to work out, without much support to help you work them out...having a Therapist to help you, to talk with you and teach you how to cope and work out your problems might be just the thing you need....if you don't like them, you don't have to go back, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
Take care,
Kat
