Hello , Im new to the the Pain Group. I was wondering if there were anyone of this board who had PAIN from MS.?? I have chronic pain in my legs 24/7. I do take ultram and opana it helps some for a short while but i have to thake this medicine all day, everyday. I have had no relief in pain in mylegs since 2004. All the meds ive tried have not helped at all. Thanks.

Hi ~ I would imagine that some of your pain is nerve pain, isn't it? Have you asked your doctor about meds for that? Perhaps something like Lyrica or Topamax would help you. I have unrelenting nerve pain due to spinal problems, and I take both Topamax and Lyrica, and they help immensely. Perhaps they would help you too. I'm no doctor of course, but I thought that nerve pain was part of your disease. I may be wrong. I hope you can find some relief to your pain. God bless, and take care. Hugs, Lee

Hello :) If pain is buning, Gabapentin and other meds. can help, it takes at least a couple of days to help though. If it is from spasms or muscle tightness, muscle relaxers can help. You can also hurt , if you cannot walk properly, so you may need assistance with that. I don't know if I have MS, but I can certainly relate to symptoms. I hope you feel a lot better soon. :) There's a MS group that may be more helpful.

from the people I have cared for in the nursing homes with MS it has to be one of the worst illness someone can get, I am very sorry you have it and your suffering with it. I know the people in the last stages were always on a lot of pain pills, and also something for nerve pain like leeal was saying. Sadly this is one of thoes conditions where all they can really do is treat the symptoms. I would make sure you have a good nureo and a good pain doc, thoese would both be your best friend

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
