Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Maybe you need to see a different Dr.
Your doctor is right that everyone has back, and other, pain that they just have to deal with. Take an advil and a heating pad. Or sometimes it is better to do as he says and just get more exercise. What you are feeling might be some muscle strain from doing more than you are used to doing. So by exercising you will get your body in better condition. Start by walking around the block a few times and work up from there.
I have to agree with Kat on this one. Maybe you need a new pm doc. Mine never dismisses my pain. He truly understands how bad pain can be. There are good ones out there- you just need to keep looking until you find one.
I hope you can get some relief soon- pain is never good and sometimes taking a walk just doesn't work. Yes, it can help some people, but if you are in serious pain, it may not be possible for you to get more exercise.
