Oxycontin manufacturer has put out a card for patients on the med to use towards their co pays, to help defer the cost. The card pays up to $70 every 14 months, on co pays. You cannot use it with medicare , medicaid, government health paid , or HMO that reinburse the entire amount of the cost of the meds. If your monthly copay is more than $70, then you can get your scripts every 14 days, and it will pay $140 a month for you. My current card expires in one year March 31, 2012. I had a card that expired this year, but the new one just came out. Hopefully this is helpful info to many of you who take oxy. The cards are given to the physcians for their patients. Ask for one, and if they do not know about it, contact the purdue co. They can be used by one person for a year. Then, I guess new ones will come out, probably until the med goes generic. It has to be less expensive to pay the $140 a month and collect $750 -1000 a month from the insurance company. Bet they figured people would balk at the cost.
