thing to worry about from bites of tics is rocky mountian spotted feaver....which is serious from tic bites...but it is not uncommon to have a welt where a tic has been and using some antibiotic should help...also something that helps is camphofinic SIC I am not sure I spelled it right....it is an oil of camphore and is good on tic bites and even mosquito bites and posion ivy too...

no the thing to worry about with ticks is lyme disease. Were they super tiny ticks? do you have an outlined red circle where the ticks were? you should look up pics of tick bites online and comare it to the marks that you have to make sure it is not something more serious.

yes jenalone is right lyme disease is a possible problem too...I couldn't remember what I was talking about but truth is both rocky mountain spotted feaver and lyme disease are possible...and do look online like jen suggested to see if the pics match anything that could be troubles...red circle around bite looking like a ring is bad....

When your mom removed them it was important to remove all parts of the tick. If anything was left in place it can make you sick. It is important to go see your doctor and let him/her know about this if you are not feeling well. They need to monitor your condition after documenting the bites and make sure you do not become ill. This might mean bloodwork in the future to check for Lyme disease. On the bright side, there are many people who get a tick bite that never come down with symptoms or get sick. My concern with you is you were bitten by 5 different ticks bless your heart!!! Go to your doctor since you aren't feeling well and keep us posted. (((((((((( ))))))))))))))))

Thanks my mom thinks she got it all but I have red spots on me where the ticks were I am going to go see my doctor tomorrow to make sure that I am okay. The ticks were not small and they were really. in betted it took my mom awhile to get them off of me I sleep on the couch and that's where my mom thinks I got them because my dogs like to lay on the couch So now my mom is going to get the couch cleaned to make sure that they are gone.

HUN... please check the dog as well- to have 5 ticks on you - your dog must be covered! Give him a tick bath- he may be miserable - you don't want anymore ...

dogs can take meds that are called Revolution and it keeps tics off...they die if they bite dog treated with Revolution...I suggest seeing your vet about buying some but it is not cheapo...about $20-30 dose for month

OMG 5 tick bites , I hate one much less five. Everything thata was said is right .but something else to do It draw a circle around the tick bite to see if it gets redder or more swollen. if this happens get to a Er right away i could be serious. O idea regarding ticks on dogs. My dog is allergic to tick stuff but the Vet told us to put ucalyptus oil on the tick or bite and around the back of ears and back o f legs where they cannot lick. apparently ticks do not like Lavendar oil or Ecalipus oil. good luck isabee Keep us posted .

You should have your momma take you to the doc to make sure shes taken care of them all- and see what they can do for you. It can be very difficult to get them completely outta there. Could cause future problems--

If you develop lyme's after a few weeks, believe me that you will KNOW when the pains start along with the fever and exhaustion. I never saw a tick bite on me, and I am never going to be the same about gardening. I am in mortal fear of coming down with it again. I know someone who has had it three times, and that further incites fear in me.
Keep a close eye on your symptoms, but the odds are that you do not have lyme's disease.!
