My friend just left Boston after visiting daughter and is at the Portland airport. Randomness in pain and suffering to those in the marathon. Fortunately EMT's and medical professionals on site.

I just spoke with Mary Ellen. Her cousin is in downtown Boston and she is supposed to pick him up. All roads are shut down.

My prayers are with those who have died and are injured. The positive thing, as Joanne said, there were a lot of EMS on site just because of the marathon. So EMS response was quick and that will mean saved lives.

Can't we get through a week anymore without something like this happening?

i am so worried about mary ellen and everyone there. i will post under the post for her... i am so, so incredibly upset about this. i have some trauma history, and even though it has nothing to do with explosions or attacks or anything, sometimes anything traumatizing in any aspect hits me on the level we are all hit as well as reawakening the specific trauma, because the feelings of horror, helplessness, fear, etc are the same on the most basic level of my being. i am so upset. when i saw the footage i literally almost threw up. i feel sick. i had a horrible anxiety attack but took valium, which is helping, also full blown migraine, also cant stop shaking, took phenergan so i dont throw up.

it is also hitting me hard because i used to live in boston and went by there every day on my way to work. i am worried about my friends there. i was there during 9/11... i am praying for mary ellen, her family, and everyone affected by this. i know we are all thrown by this and deeply upset, so i am sending out the biggest hugs in the world to every single one of you...

I understand what you mean emsa.....I live just outside of Boston......was just there 2 weeks ago for a doctor appt.....worked at a large hospital there.....I can't process yet I guess what has happened, but tears just start falling along with this inner anxiety. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers go out to all who were there, patients,first responders..this is an awful thing to witness and it triggers strong emotions. God Bless

I could not believe it when I saw it on the news I just was like OMG Its so sad two people died, and more than 100 people were injured. I hope they find out who committed this horrible act of violence

Praying for Boston (a city I know and love) and all the people & families involved. Also praying for your country and world,,,,, scary times we live in.
