.....everything gets thrown in that bucket until it becomes acute. My PCP has been doing this to me since I started seeing her 2 or 3 years ago.
I've been telling her that my upper back (not spine) and shoulder have been killing me for the last year. I've hobbled into her office every 4 weeks for a check and my scripts only to have any specific issues brushed aside. I tell her I can't live like this...she increases my antidepressant. I tell her the pain is unbearable...she tries another small dose of something different.
I've said over and over that I think we're missing something and the last time, she got a bit snippy and said she couldn't imagine what!!! Therein lies the problem...no imagination!
Finally she agreed to send me to an Ortho for my shoulder, I waited over 3 months for the appt., he sent me for an MRI, he never sent me a report and after weeks of trying to get a follow up...tomorrow's the day.
I took it upon myself to get copies of everything from the local hospital and found the MRI report in the big stack of papers. Man...am I pissed.
It turns out that my horrible pain can be explained quite easily. I have a full thickness tear of hte blah blah near the humeral attachment and another tear of something else. And I'd been working as a hairdresser, close to tears from pain, and was told it was Fibro!!!
The neck pain can also be explained by Cervical Neuropathy. The pain from that goes down to my hands and some days I can barely turn my head. It took an ER doc to actually give it a name. He wants me to see a Neurosurgeon, but I haven't been able to catch my PCP in the clinic to even get a damned referral.
I won't say I don't have Fibro...I have all the tender points and oher symptoms, but that was diagnosed years ago. My fingers are starting to look pretty bad from arthritis, if I walk around or stand for more than a few minutes, my lower back will hurt so badly that my legs shake.
So beware, friends, if you're diagnosed with Fibro when you're young, your doc might not listen to anything you say in the future.
I guess you have to YELL!!!

I still don't understand the throbbing pain in my legs and feet. My legs shook so badly this morning that I barely made it down the stairs.
The anesthetic has worn off in my shoulder and it hurts worse than before the injection. I was warned that it would, but in 48 hours he steroid should start doing something...hopefully good!
Anyway...my whole body is in throbbling pain and it hurts my neck and arms to type...that's all.

My rheumie blames the fibro, my pcp blames the RA, my neck doc blames, oh wait, my neck, yeah he got it right. and shoulder pain, yes had surgery and now full tear, but Im not going through that surgery again.
and if you have fibro, which usually goes along with a lot of diseases, then add a shoulder problem, DDD, DJD, its like no body wants to take the blame. But they all want to throw meds at you.
Thank God, I have good Dr now
