Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Your whole family has been through a lot. All of these things would weigh heavily on anyone. I hope that your daughter gets justice against your ex. It really sucks that you move out with her to protect her and have no place to go, and he is probably sitting there in comfort. The whole system disenfranchises victims of domestic abuse (physical, emotional or sexual.) Our society clearly has a long way to go.
My concerns are the same as FadingnAustin's, but it seems that it was cathartic for you to share your feelings. I am glad your HMO sent you a form to fill out. Hopefully, they won't just bureacratically file it and forget it. The doctor will probably say that it is just a personal attack. The larger issue is, that it is quite common to go to doctors and have them do nothing to help. Heck, if we knew that in advance we wouldn't waste our time and money!
My hubby goes to a traditional Chinese doctor. He is an oncologist, a Western MD, but is now practicing with traditional herbs. You pay when you are well, a monthly rate, and don't pay when you are sick. If you are unwell, the doctor is not doing his job, in that system. I like that system!
Yes, social security is very difficult to get and time-consuming. 50 is the magic #. If you are 50-yrs-old you are NOT expected to train to do a job you have never done. 1 more year for you. And another thing... they don't care how much you normally make. If you can make more than $950 per month, social security does NOT consider you disabled. Who the heck can live on that? Not in Chicago! That's for sure.
