Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Gaaahhhh. :/
Every week - a new pain.
Every doctor's visit - a new diagnosis.
Today, I've had the worst dysesthesia* (Sorry, I'm a bit of a spelling Nazi.. Does anyone know the correct spelling?) that I've ever had. I was actually semi-awake, my neck wasn't burning for ones, and I didn't even need icyhot on my hands. I made it through about half the day of school pretty ecstatic that I was able to be there without a lot of pain. But then the soreness got out of control. I accidentally smacked my hand against my thigh and it sent me into tears. It hurts to sit or lay in any position.. It's just one thing after another. When some symptoms go away, others return. My whole situation just makes no sense.. And it's getting to the point where I'm scared to go to the doctor. Because every time I go, they accidentally find something new wrong with me. Things that, gone undiagnosed, I would've been blind and paralyzed from. I can't help but be scared that there are more things like that.
I'm headed to the neurologist on the 19th.. Going to get an MRI scheduled soon. I've been having back pain and symptoms of a tethered cord again.. If I have to have that surgery again, I don't know how I'll make it. I barely got through it the first time. But, on a positive note, I went to school all day today. For the first time since, like, September. It definitely wasn't pleasant and it took a lot of meds, but I made it. (Barely, but whatever.)
I'm not much of a religious person, but I would really appreciate some prayers that my spinal cord isn't retethered and that I can get through finals next week. Through some new antidepressants and painkillers, a lot of AP chemistry, and quite a bit of tears, I'm somehow up to B's in all my classes. If I can just make it to school the rest of the semester I may just be able to keep my 4.0, or close to it.
Maybe I'm just being too paranoid about things. I just can't help feeling that there's something else wrong when my symptoms don't all add up..
AND CHRISTMAS IS COMING. My first gluten-free Christmas. I got this. :P

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Sometimes it is hard for us to accept perfect isn't an option, and, just accepting doing the best we can with the way we are now...

its hard when your going to drs and new DX's are coming in it can be overwhelming, and than having to possibly go through something again that was painful in the past again can be a very hard thought.
your a brave girl I can tell and your doing your best that's all anyone can ask, hopefully your new meds will be helpful and you'll find relief.
sending lots of healing thoughts and well wishes

I'm not a religious person. I usually say I'll think of you..
But..I willll be praying for you. ( I'm not a believer..so..I'll be thinking of you..I'll have you in my thoughts and heart, too..but I will " Pray", too.
I don't mean to be patronising..
But..I can't help thinking your parents must be so proud of you.
Not for all of your obvious accomplishments ( although, I'm sure, those as well) .. but because of your character.
OK..that's all the typing I can do..especially with trying to be so attentive to errors.
spelling Nazis scare me...given I've managed to misspell my own name lately..:-) :-) :-)
Hugs....jc
Good Lord....you would not believe all the corrections I had to make in these few sentences..:-)
Sending soothing prayers and lotsa hugs, Dianna
So why would anyone NOT be paranoid? Docs know less about how the body works than they play about. But they act like God.
Perhaps if they had the proper humility and WORKED with patients, we would not be all so sick.
I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Last time you posted, I think your body just crashed from pushing yourself too much and needed a break.
I'm saying some healing prayers for you and prayers to sail through finals~

Maybe you should give a talk about this to your school. I know it is a scary thought but I feel you could give a lot back. God knows you have enough on your plate for right now.
Very proud of you girl!
I will be praying for you
Big Bear Hugs
