Well my years of living alone were short, I started living alone for the first time when I was 43 and now 4 short years later I'm not. lol

My 27 yr. old ended his relationship with his GF of 5 years a month ago when he found she'd been unfaithful to him while he was in Basic Training. The worst part was, every penny of the thousands of dollars he'd put into that relationship she blew, leaving him flat broke.

So instead of sleeping in his car, staying in that town where she is and not getting on with life, I convinced him to come back home where he'd be with family to support him and help him get back on his feet. He's been living with me for 2 1/2 weeks now. Even though it was a big adjustment for both of us, it's gone extremely well. He starts a new job on Monday with a Company that's an Army National Guard Supporter, so he won't have to worry about losing his job when he's on Maneuvers throughout the month. He's rejoined our local Volunteer Fire Dept., and as soon as he saves the money to get his own place down the road, he'll enroll in night classes to finish his EMT training, which the Army GI Bill pays for.

I've also benefited from this arrangement. It's nice to have someone to bring in the heavy groceries, take out the garbage, run the dishwasher, and vacuum and mop floors.....all those things that shouldn't be hard for the regular person, but when your hands don't like to open or grasp objects and your legs either cause so much pain you can't do much but wrap them in heating pads and bang your head against a wall, those things can be impossible. He's even helped me blow dry and straighten my hair when my hands don't want to hold the darn blow dryer or curling iron.

Now I just have to not get used to him being here, so that when he moves out in a couple months, I can just go back to my sole existence. lol he's assured me he'll still be coming over for meals!
