Did you think that surgery was not going to take months of recovery or did you hope that he had another solution to take care of the pain as I dont think any sort of PT would help it in the long run.
If you had a dream outcome what would it be besides the obvious of no pain.
The friend who referred you to the doctor was there for surgery on assortment of things does the doctor do anything else besides surgery? I just thought that is what you were going there for was to get a opinion on getting surgery.
Yeah...I know it takes time to recover from surgery. It just hit me hard when he said 3 months because that's a long time to go with no income. I know I'll manage (now that I've calmed down a bit). My Parents will help, but I've been so independent for so long that it's a tough pill to swallow.
Tomorrow I go back to have my knee evaluated. It feels like I'm falling apart quickly and yes...it does scare me a little.
This doc is a surgeon and everyone thinks he's the best one we have around here. I trust him and at least I have the real story, now. He doesn't immediately tell people they need surgery, though. We talked about steroid shots and the horrible reaction I've had to them in the past. He quickly made a note of that.
I just have to 'buck up' and get this done. I'm really worried about the increased neck pain he said I would have for a while after surgery...it's so bad now!
I'm done pissing and moaning about it! Time to make my plans to fix this.
Wishing you the best of luck
Hugs

I had rotator cuff surgery and was in pretty good shape within a few days. I'm sure doing hair will be a bit tough at first but probably not as bad as you think. My one piece of advice that is invaluable is do the PT first to strengthen as much as possible. I did this and it was amazing.
And remember that in the end you will feel so much better. SO a little extra trouble now will pay off later.
