Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
People who come here and read these "advertisements" or links to websites, as well as recommendations for strains and dosages could very well be the next fatality because of this stuff being posted about how "safe" it is, or be dismissed from pain management because they have believed what they read here that it is just some" supplement".
If it works for you and you are comfortable with risking it, that's your choice, but please consider for a moment, others who know nothing about any of this world of pain management, and the risks associated with taking any substance not regulated and tested to ensure their safety.
My only concern FOR ME,...and for others,... would be a lack of information and the regulation requirements / guidelines etc... especially reaction risks with other prescribed medications.. eg, affects on INR / Warfarin etc,..
I have Lupus SLE n MCTD, and take several medications to help stabilize symptoms,.. ie,.Prednisone, other Immunosuppressants, anti-depressant medications, Lyrica, Blood vessel dilators, Warfarin etc etc,. Pain management is only one part of my Lupus treatment.
Consideration into possible negative reactions to my current management regime and the mixing of an unregulated supplement, would be a high on my agenda before trying it,....
For Me personally, I would definitely, play it safe and dicuss with my Pain Management team and other Specialists prior to trying it.. in the hopes of preventing any possible negative interactions
So glad some are finding relief, and, are having positive experiences with Kratom, I , totally love the idea of finding natural solutions over pharmaceuticals., any day,.... ie like MMJ... sigh, again currently Illegal here in Aus...
Cheers Seek..
@FightenF: You said, "what about the side effects of our prescription drugs" We do get warnings of the side effects of our drugs, that's why you get the 2 - 4 page insert with every prescription, it tells you exactly what you can and cannot do while on said drug, the side effects, warnings, etc.
the reason you can put Katron as part of the blame of the deaths of those who use it, is because they don't give you any information about what you can or cannot combine it with, no list of side effects, no warnings of if you mix this with "X" it can kill you. You might find more info if you research it on the net, but realistically how many teens/twenty's are going to go look up something before they take it? Its the misinformation and negligence created from that misinformation from the corporation that creates it and markets it that makes it dangerous.
And as Sandim said, it's not a matter of anyone saying you can't use it, it's the fact that people are portraying it as something that its not.
I don't care if someone takes it or not, but those who post that they can't take the pain anymore, I am going to give them a choice to do their research and make an adult decision. Better that then they reach the point of suicide, which I considered at least 15 times in the 10 yrs of pain, spending the weekend on the couch crying it hurt so bad. Thinking my pain was never going to get better, so why suffer. As I said in another post...it SAVED me from killing myself a month ago.
Thank you.
