Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Does AYKM mean are you kidding me already? 'Cause I think it should. Especially for us.
Determined to start the year with a better attitude..
I woke yesterday with a mean toothache ( no surprise..osteoporosis, low vitamin D..long term prednisone........)
Well..y'all know when you're constantly on Mega doses of strong meds..the pain that breaks through...can break you.
So..I was pretty much a horrid bi*$ h to my husband yesterday morning.
He came home yesterday eve..said he had called my Dr..but they were out already. So..he called the pharmacist to see what antibiotics ( you know when you have an abcessed tooth if you've ever had one) ..
That he or I might have on order. Pharmacist said..just the one I always have there for cellulitis. ( which..it's not been that long since I was on).
Then he said...I'd feel better giving her.......some different antibiotic for an abcess...so..I'll do that and get it approved by her Dr on Wed. !
One of the things I love about a small town. But..not a lot of pharmacists would do that. I was so touched I cried ( on top of the crying I was already doing..
BECAUSE...turns out..my Fent patch was completely off! ( second one from this box to do that..something not right there)
So..I kinda reattatched it..
Double-dosed antibiotics since...
Woke up today with no patch and tooth screaming.
Is this a sad tale or a happy one?
( y'all probably think I have a point...because I never type this much.
...not really...:-) :-)
I'm trying SO hard to think of this as a happy tale.
My husband is amazing..to be doing all that he can to help me after I'm evil.
My pharmacist is an all-around nice human being.
And..I have friends that have read this far in spite of the pointlessness..:-) :-) :-)
I WILL be grateful..I will be grateful..I will be grateful.
No..I AM grateful.
( OK...will be a little more so when this new patch activates and antibiotic is working..but..
This year..I will choose to find the blessings..no matter how well hidden..:-) :-)
You guys are the obvious blessings.
Hugs

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...

Not a great way to wake up! I used to use duct tape on my patches which totally fit since we're a little redneck up here! :) my doctor laughed at me lol. Pharmacist sounds awesome, I'd settle for mine just knowing my name instead of id number only! Lol Hubby is a blessing! He should teach a good hubby class! Lol
Strong prayers and gentle hugs,
Charlotte
Also, I hope you get the fent patch adhesive issue fixed soon. The company should replace those at no charge. I have used Tegaderm over my Butrans patches in the past.
I don't blame you for bumping up your BT meds. I've done the same thing many times. I always say I will cut back on the good days, but always seems that doesn't ever happen. I hope that's not the case for you. I hope your pain eases up soon. Hugs...
