Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Does AYKM mean are you kidding me already? 'Cause I think it should. Especially for us.
Determined to start the year with a better attitude..
I woke yesterday with a mean toothache ( no surprise..osteoporosis, low vitamin D..long term prednisone........)
Well..y'all know when you're constantly on Mega doses of strong meds..the pain that breaks through...can break you.
So..I was pretty much a horrid bi*$ h to my husband yesterday morning.
He came home yesterday eve..said he had called my Dr..but they were out already. So..he called the pharmacist to see what antibiotics ( you know when you have an abcessed tooth if you've ever had one) ..
That he or I might have on order. Pharmacist said..just the one I always have there for cellulitis. ( which..it's not been that long since I was on).
Then he said...I'd feel better giving her.......some different antibiotic for an abcess...so..I'll do that and get it approved by her Dr on Wed. !
One of the things I love about a small town. But..not a lot of pharmacists would do that. I was so touched I cried ( on top of the crying I was already doing..
BECAUSE...turns out..my Fent patch was completely off! ( second one from this box to do that..something not right there)
So..I kinda reattatched it..
Double-dosed antibiotics since...
Woke up today with no patch and tooth screaming.
Is this a sad tale or a happy one?
( y'all probably think I have a point...because I never type this much.
...not really...:-) :-)
I'm trying SO hard to think of this as a happy tale.
My husband is amazing..to be doing all that he can to help me after I'm evil.
My pharmacist is an all-around nice human being.
And..I have friends that have read this far in spite of the pointlessness..:-) :-) :-)
I WILL be grateful..I will be grateful..I will be grateful.
No..I AM grateful.
( OK...will be a little more so when this new patch activates and antibiotic is working..but..
This year..I will choose to find the blessings..no matter how well hidden..:-) :-)
You guys are the obvious blessings.
Hugs

If you only know one thing about me, it should be _____________________.

Dang girl. When it rains, it pours. So many things you're already dealing with. All you needed was this too!!!
Gentle hugs to you jc. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon to relieve some of the pain.
Pity is always welcome..:-) :-)
I bumped my BTs this morning..I'll pay later..
But at least my head isn't doing that exorcist thing any more..:-) :-)
I do have sticky things to go over the patches..usually only use them to shower..my bad. ( it would probably make more sense than super-glue..:-) :-)
Hugs back
a while back i had some patches that had little adhesive very frustrating.
hope today is better!
Thanks you! I felt when I put the one on this morning that the adhesion isn't right again. I'm going to take the last one from the box to the pharmacist and have him check it out.
I have to call my PM and tell her, too..'cause this is twice in a row I changed it early.
Hope your day is better, too.
Hugs
Glad to hear the exorcist thingy has eased up, yaaaay for hubby and the pharmacy..... so flippers crossed the antibiotics help and that rascally patch stays on.....
Hmmmm, n here I was whining about my first day of the year.... grumble mumble n moan.....
Huge Huhs n Hugs xoxo
I know you don't whine or vent publicly...so I won't " out" you too much..
But..you have far more right to sympathy for how you're feeling than my whiny a*s does.
Love you

Our Seekn REALLY isn't feeling well.
I said I won't " out" him..so..I won't say more.
( 'though it's not my fault if anyone happens to see my hugs)
I used to have a pharmacist like that until I moved. He was always so helpful to everyone.
Hope your abcess gets better and that you have better luck keeping those patches on.
Gentle hugs,
Mary Ellen

Can I clone your husband? I'm thinking about killing mine right now, so I'll need a replacement. One who actually will GO to the pharmacy for you and doesn't bitch about it when he does something stupid. Sigh...
Sorry about your tooth and your patches. When it rains, it pours. I'd definitely let the pharmacist know because it's a manufacturing defect and he can buy them from another distributor. Maybe they're made in Mexico- lol. Not great quality control there.
Feel better soon, sweetie! And I'll keep our froggie in my prayers too.
