I will remember you and your husband in my prayers.
Gentle hugs for you both, too.
I'm so sorry. What a crushing blow.
As to telling you it will get better..
Well..if you've experienced grief before..
You know that it will eventually get easier.
For now, though..
You and your husband at least have each other to share your loss.
Sound like he was a very lucky dog to have you guys.
Hugs

I know what you mean. I lost Homer just this past summer. I would hear something blow past our atrium back doors and I would look out expecting to see him. Everytime we have pizza, I look for Homer to come get the crust (he lovvved pizza crust). I also held him as he passed in the vet's office.
My heart goes out to you during this heartbreaking time.
I am so sorry you lost your baby! It is so hard to lose them and come home to the reminders. A couple of years ago I had to take my Boxer in and held him as he passed. It was so hard bc Sampson was mine from a puppy and was present for both of our kids. As Bill and some others have previously mentioned there is a website called the rainbow bridge.com I believe that has a beautiful poem about a loved pet that has passed along with ways you can honor your pet to ease your pain. It helped me; hopefully it will help you too! Gentle hugs and a big box of kleenex coming your way!
This is the link to the poem about the Rainbow bridge
I'm so sorry for your loss. The memory of the loss of my beagle,Sam comes back and the tears flow. I still remember looking for him for weeks after he died. I still have his collar after all these years. I can't wait to see him in heaven.
Just.....grieve right now. No need to "get over it" just yet. That time will come. I'm glad you have your husband with you. You both need each other right now.
