Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
It just never wore off, you didnt need to have to pop a pill every four hours and then have it wear off in 2. I is a more even pain releif though you will not even know you are taking something besides the pain is less, it is a really good med. drink lots of water
Now, taking 15 mg every 12 hours keeps me nice and steady with limited pain. I still have the option to take Norco when there is breakthrough pain and I do take probably 2 or so per day (I was up to 5 or so per day prior to going on the morphine).
A few days before starting morphine, my phsyche put me on cymbalta, 20 mg twice per day. I feel like the combination is working really well, though I have had a lot of sleepiness as a result. I found out this morning that if I don't eat breakfast, I really feel terrible by mid-morning, so I would advise you make sure not to miss meals.
Last thing - side effects I've been experiencing since going on the new medications include sleepiness, constipation, difficulty reaching orgasm, and difficulty starting a urine stream. I can live with these, though I hope at least the sleepiness improves. It's hard to tell which meds are causing which sides, but I'm sure all will improve a little over time.
Take care, best of luck. I think you're on the right track, however!
