migraines, boredom, bipolar...Adopted a Kitten!!

Okay so Chicken Tikka you and I seem to be on similar wave lengths, somewhat...
I know most of the time I sound like I have my crap together...lol...yeah I don't. Migraines, Cluster Migraines SUCK, they major SUCK, when you live in the South in a State where thunderstorms roll in every afternoon and your Migraines are dictated by the Barometric Pressure it really sucks....it gets really iffy when you have Cluster Migraines, Seizures and a Neurological Mental Illness, which for me is fairly severe BiPolar.
At times when your head feels like it's going to explode if the pressure builds for 1 more millisecond but there's 8 million thoughts running through your brain on a continual loop that you can't stop, no matter how many times you bang your head against something....and then you wake up on the floor with a bloody nose and it feels like your body's been run over with a Mac Truck....and you don't have a freakin clue what happened or where you are...until the movie starts playing again....My shrink is really the only one who never questions why I'm suicidal at times.
So today for whatever reason, I had to get out of the house, because my head couldn't be in the house any longer, the house was not saying nice things to the pressure....and there is a reason I've not worked Friday's for the last 25 years of my Career, 4 days of work is all my overly worked, overly educated brain can handle in a "normies" office....so I ended up at the Animal Shelter, because I like to hang out with the kittens.
But there was 1 lil long haired scrawny black kitten that just looked at me...she looked at me that certain way and dammit I adopted it. I love cats, have always had cats, but have been free of that responsibility for 2 years. So I adopted a lil 3 mo. old long haired, long whiskered, black with white footed kitten. We're figuring out the name... The hilarious part is the house was not ready for a kitten, who wants to hide 50% of the time....nooooo. So in alternating holding the kitten for an hour and then letting it go hide behind the chair I then had to cut out cardboard to close off all the spaces beside the fridge, washer, dryer....those big tight spaces that there would be no way in hell I could get to if the cat got behind....and the Corn Plants that I can see shredded...the turkish rugs that have to be picked up, because she thinks the litter box is a place to sleep...the overdyed turkish floor pillows....my house is soooo not kitten friendly.
and we won't even mention the pain....

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

OldCPer, your way of seeing life, you remind me of one of my cousins whom I love so much. I am in awe of him as much as I am sorry for him.
You made me giggle about the cardboard everywhere. Hurts to giggle, but worth it.
Sweet snuggles to you and kitty.
What's kitty's name??
Not only is it just so freaking excited that you and said kitty have new families and bringing your new kitty home is one of the best feelings in the world, but I'm so glad that you adopted the little black furred guy! We have a black kitty, and so do my parents, and it always warms my heart when others get one too, because they are lots of times the last ones to me adopted -- because of superstition and other things. -- but they are soooooo amazingly wonderful!
I don't know if you've ever had a black kitty before, but from tons of learning and having kitties all my life and knowing Chloe and Hobbes (mine and my mom's cats) we've learned that they tend to have very cute, high pitched meows, seem to be a little skittish (not in a bad way at all...meaning very aware of their surroundings and quick to startle sometimes) and they are some of the best furry lovers in the whole wide world :)
So ridiculously happy and excited for you!!!!!! Enjoy every minute of kitten good!
Have you given him kitty treats yet? When you get a hold of that little fella, if you have some treats you can shake about and give to him so he knows the sound and how delicious they are, that might help you start finding him when he's in one of his hiding sessions.
We like to use Greenies treats because they are good for their teeth AND they're extra awesome because you can give your cat a ton of them because they are very very low calorie and aren't nearly as "bad" for them as other treats. So you could use them throughout the day to help form that comforting bond while he's getting accustomed to life in his new home :) just a thought!
She likes to be in places where its kind of dark, like on the kitchen chair where the table cloth hangs down behind it. So I put a little food on a saucer on the chair and she scarfed it down and started meowing for more. LOL I guess she liked it. She finished off most of a little kitten can, over 3 installments, little turkey even hissed at me once when I took the saucer to put more food on it. Now she's sleeping peacefully and content.
Oh yeah, she did enjoy the Corn Tree last night, there was potting soil all over the floor this morning.....life has gotten so busy.....she's just a little 1 1/2 lb. kitten! LOL
