Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I, myself, and really low bodyweight and my doc doesn't think its an issue and neiter did other docs in my past as well. I think its based more of a tolerance level. Mine is really low and everything gets to me so I can only take so little even though I'm in so much pain because the side effects are enormous.
But anyway, good question and I hope you get some good replies.
I'm so afraid this will happen to me, because when I'm in pain I'm desperate for relief. I haven't been able to talk to anyone about this before.
I agree with Willow54. Never take more or less then what is prescribed to you or mix meds without consulting your Dr. first. I even give my pharmacist a phone call before taking anything over the counter.
In austalia their were some kidney failures due to the drug preetixge. The media blamed the drug yet the media failed to let people know that these people were in their 90's and had liver failure.
Some people that are taking the right dosages do die, some people arent able to take such high dosages and that sometimes when taking one drug and other drugs the drugs sometimes intereact and do kill people.
their was a doco in thrid world counties that arent in pain but paid by the drug companies to take the drug and see how it goes.Sometimes the people die from that and from intactions from other drugs.
When ever i take a new drug i always look it up on google and what it interacts with.
Some people think the drug isnt working them take another dose and another till they do od from the drug.
As to how much is too much? I second those who say more than prescribed although at one point I was taking up to 14 grains of codeine durng waking day. There is another issue besides how much is too much? As you take more you may become foggy and forget you have already taken your meds r how much you have taken.
