In my State Cannabis is illegal and I don't use it, but if it was legal as I would use it. A friend of mine that lives in Oregon uses Cannabis to help her with her intractable pain. She goes to a store/pharmacy type of place and since she doesn't like to smoke it, she buys it in the form of oil, candy, they have brownies, cupcakes, etc..... and she gets her script from her PCP.

She swears by it, and prefers the oil. Just a few drops under the tongue every 4 hours and that keeps her going. Maybe one of these days, all States will be as progressive as Oregon, California, etc.....

To the person that is a Christian........ My friend is a Christian and she is not afraid of "going to hell"!! The Cannabis plant was planted on Earth by Jesus/God for us human beings to use it for medicinal purposes, just like the poppy plant that produces the opiods that most of us use to make our lives more manageable and without our continuous pain.
So I honestly doubt that any of us that take opiods are going to go to hell!

Here is part of the article that i found. Aparently there was an initiative passed, which does make it legal for Arizonians to use medical Marijuana, as loang as they have a valid Doctor's prescription, but it needs to be amended, to say that it is legal to use medical marijuana with only a doctor's referal, and not a prescription. So, next year you guys are voting to change your medical marijuana law, so that the doctors can give you referals. But, it is legal.

Unfortunately, the initiative was flawed in that it allowed patients to use medical marijuana only with their doctors' "prescriptions." I am 100% Christian, and as the bible states, God put the green herb on earth for us to use. To me, means that I can smoke my weed. The only reason that people sometimes think that it is a sin, is because it is against the law in most places, but that is MAN's LAW, and not God's. If he didnt want us to have it, he wouldnt have created it. Indians have used Marijuana for religious purposes for 1000's of years, and I think that it was meant for many reasons.

Did you know that Marijuana has been found to actually increase brain cells in lab rats, and it also can reverse the growth of certain cancers. Also, it helps with so many different diseases, that sometimes I think that God created Marijuana and the Opium plants, as nature's pharmacy, and who are we to turn down what God meant for us to use.
Not only do I not think that it is a sin, but I think that it is a sin, not to use it.

Amen brother. OK, yesterday I looked into this Medical MJ and AZ law much deeper than before. In 1998 a law was passed that made medicinal mj legal for a list of diseases/conditions as long as you have a prescription or recommendation from an MD. OK, but doctors here will not give those prescriptions because it is a federal offense and they can lose their licenses. Prop 203 in 2002 would have changed some of these requirements and require the state to provide medical marijuana, not enough votes. So we are stuck only with that law passed in 1998 but if we are caught and end up in court we can plead medical necessity and with scientific proof(i.e. MRI's) we most likely will not be charged. Hanging in limbo over here and yes I found that in 2010 there will be a new opportunity to vote for Med. Mj use. My problem would be, I think, that my doc could cancel my Percocet and maybe other prescriptions as well. I only get 2 5/325 mgs a day. 10 mgs a day for enormous pain all over this body!! Arghhhhh. Oh, did I mention I am frustrated today? Anybody have an elephant tranquilizer to shoot me with? I'd like to black out and sleep this day away.

My boss lives in CO and suggested this for me due to my chronic pain. Unfortunately, I am in Georgia and there is less than zero chance of it becoming legalized here. I have no desire to get high - too much of a control freak to enjoy the sensation - I just want relief from pain and the ability to function as fully as possible. I don't know if it would work for me or not, I just find it frustrating to be prevented from finding out if it would help me because our lawmakers can only conceive that we would all use it for illicit purposes. Good grief.

I am a disabled veteran with chronic pain, and I am also an alcoholic. For ten years I have a variety of things including, opiates, (vicoden, oxycotin) benzodiazepines (zanax, valium), acupuncture, physical therapy, yoga, exercise and out and out sobriety. As a 30 year old Woman I have found what works best for my body. I live in California and am also blessed to have a medical marijuana license. I smoke a pure indica about 4 times a day and take Aleve on top of that if needed. I eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water . I do not drink alcohol and also stay away from pharmaceuticals because they are ALL HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. As an alcoholic I am already pre-disposed to having addictions, I certainly am not going to invite another. I understand some people may see me as a "pot head", but this is what works best for me. I feel very strongly about spreading the message of Medical marijuana, as I believe it could save people from a life of addiction and a quicker death. Many people do not know that vicoden and heroin both come from the same plant, the poppy. "God" made the poppy plant and the cannabis plant, society just tells you one is better...... the one you buy it in pill form from the govt.
Bottom line, life is short, take care of yourself and your body because you're the only one who will.

Hi Chanting, thanks for digging up my old buried post. We do what we must to live with less pain. I don't think you are a Pot head but someone doing what it takes to function.

A few months ago someone I know knew someone who knew someone to buy some pot from. I got a load of it. Unfortunately, I had to smoke enough to get high to relieve any pain but smoking that much did relieve much of the muscle, joint and nerve pain. It didn't take much to relieve the chronic nausea. I could not sleep until it wore off because my mind would be racing and full of anxious thoughts(not my norm). I was disappointed. I just stopped trying one day as I thought of the Pain Specialist my doc referred me to and the recent UA. To my shock I was never told that it showed up in the ua. So, I still have quite a bit in a bag in a rubbermaid container. Must have been the wrong kind.

I am currently going under medicinal marijuana treatment and let me tell you its worth it!! Not having all the long term effects with opiods, being constipated, liver damage, and so on. Marijuana works wonders for me! I love the mental and physical relaxation. It is a great adjunct to opioids.

Slrow, There is nothing in the Old Testament, New Testament, Koran or anywhere else that forbids the sacred herb. In fact Jesus praised "men of oils and herbs." Man made alcohol, God made cannabis. Who do you trust?

You know.... I was talking to a GF of mine that lives in Alaska last night and is chronic pain and she was telling me that adding Marijuana to her regular opiod therapy is working out for her. She is sleeping better and not having as much nerve pain. I think that I am going to give it a try. I have nothing to loose, and actually my PM Doc and I had a conversation about medical MJ the other day, and he is all for it. I am planning to join the group that is trying to legalize medical MJ here in Florida. I believe in using whatever it is that is going to make you feel better, and if it is MJ, go for it!
