Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Also there is a tiny little bottle of med I use for my feet for pain . It's in the dietbetic isle at cvs or Walgreens . It's kind of expensive but when you see how long it last it's not . The name of its Neruagen .awesome stuff . My daughter uses it for her dietbetic feet too.
You're not weird- I have peri neurpahty and my pain is from my knees to my ankles too- my feet have no sensation in them.
You are on a low dose of Lyrica. I take the max dose of 600ng.day and it helps my pain so well (I also take it for fibro pain). You may want to ask your doctor if you can increase it.
But there is also Gappentin (Neurontin) which might help you better. Some people find Savella helps their pain better. Everyone is different.
I hope you find relief soon. It's never fun to be in pain.

I am so sorry that you are having so much trouble! It sounds like since this is the 3rd try with this drug and it is not working that you need to ask your doctor to switch you to something else. When I read what you posted about the third try with Lyrica and no success that is what prompted me to tell you to ask the MD to switch you to a different med. From what you describe it sounds like Lyrica is not your drug. Best of luck and keep us posted on what you are going to do next. We are here for you no matter what!!

My rheumatologist increased my Lyrica to 300 mg a day. It has also been my miracle drug. When he put me on that dose, he also prescribed Maxzide(diiuretic) to prevent swelling. It worked very well.
Would your doctor prescribe a mild diuretic to counteract this side effect?
Thing is, I have tried to stop taking Lyrica on 2 occasions, even weaned off slowly. When I was off of it, I felt horrible. The sciatica got way out of control and I felt like I was in a continuous state of "withdrawals". So I wound up going back on it. I guess maybe it does work, afterall.
Have you asked your doc about SCS?
