Bump

Getting ready for another doc appt...googled Savella and found a page called public citizen. I found it under a website called aboutlawsuits.com
I hate drugs.com...hate going from page to page with little info. Prefer real people's comments. This page has a whole bunch of yeas and nays on the drug. Glad it helped some but side effects need to be watched for. Like anything else. Know what to look for and hope it's good for some. One comment stuck out to me. Finally got something to help that wasn't a narcotic. mmm if it kills pain and not you it's a good drug, no? cheesh! I don't have time for discriminating remarks. But google the drug and check into it if you want.

Lyrica is a lifesaver for me. I have severe nerve damage, leftover from surgery for cauda equina syndrome. I was on Neurontin and nortriptylene for 8 years, then found that Lyrica was an even better drug for me and was able to drop the nortriptylene entirely. (Hooray for one less drug to buy!) I take Lyrica at a much higher dose than most people, though- I take 200mg 3 times a day. On Neurontin I was taking 1600mg 3 times a day. I've been on these drugs for such a long time, I can't really say if there's been a lot of side effects. I do sometimes "lose" words, where I just can't find what I want to say, and I'm only 30 years old. But that's pretty minor considering the world of hurt I'd be in without the meds.

Lyrica caused severe migraines for me. In fact, one was so severe I had to go to the hospital for pain meds. At that time of the hospital visit I did not know it was the Lyrica causing the excruciating migraine. I finally figured it out in a few days when I realized that everytime, within half an hour of taking Lyrica, I had a terrible, debilitating pain in my head.

How can something for pain cause so much pain??? Go figure.
