Chronic Pain Support Group

This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

So instead of bonding with my daughter over making her a dress for an upcoming wedding she is going to.... I am at my computer in tears because I hurt too much to just be alive right now.
I am 'making my pain meds stretch' as my vicoden is supposed to be here on Friday but I have no verification it has mailed out yet... If it has not shipped, we will have to wait probably until Tuesday to pick it up... hopefully.
Between stretching pain meds, a sudden cold front (oh I love 20 degrees!!), and wind storms, I just flat hurt.
I had planned to do most of the work on the dress - I am a better seamstress than my daughter, at least for following bought patterns. She and I are about equal when eyeballing a simple pattern from a picture. She is worried that the dress won't be as nice as she wants. She wants reassurance, bonding, mommy.
I have nothing to give her and that sucks.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

We have today and tomorrow to get this dress finished. Friday we have horses to deal with all day.
The gauze and satin has gone away for a simple cotton. It won't be half as cute, but it will be nice.
yadlim - who is ready to just keel over and fall asleep at my desk
It breaks my heart as it is a pattern that I should have been able to cut out and sew together in about three to four hours. Today we went through my stores of fabric and picked out a nice navy blue cotton with a satinlike steel gray for the lining and trim... By noon we had it all cut out and the bodice partially sewn.
A half hour of fighting with the contrast trim on the top of the bodice because my hands were shaking too badly, and we went for matching bias tape instead. I left my daughter to do a couple seams and pin the bias tape... it was flat bias tape though, not folded, and it fought her tooth and nail. It was not until I had half of it secured in place with Stich Wichery (iron on fabric 'glue') that I realized that it was missing a top securing seam to keep the bodice top line from wrinkling or fighting the bias tape... it went down hill from there. The end result was not an even top line that looked horrible.
I have missed my hubby's day off work, I hurt so bad I want to cry. We have wasted five or six yards of fabric. And I just sent my kid to Walmart to go buy a dress for the wedding she is attending.
Good news is that my vicoden has shipped. It shipped yesterday so I should see it by Monday...

I hope you start feeling better soon!
Love and gentle hugs,

Your meds are on their way so dry your tears my friend.
Though my meds have shipped, they are not here yet. At best I could have them on Tuesday. The mailman won't come to the house to get the signature so she will leave a slip in the mailbox for me to pick up the next day.
I have one tab of vicoden left... the next few days are going to suck.
