Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I have to highly recommend a feather bed.
The ones in the store aren't that great but QVC has one from Northern Nights called the "Uncrushable" feather bed.
It's a little over $100 but well worth the money. Due to Christmas coming soon, you can buy one now & try it out & if you don't like it, you have until Jan 31st to send it back.
My Dad w/ back problems, my Mom w/ back problems, & I all love this. I've also had friends stay over & if they sleep in my bed, they say how much they love it; even friends w/ back pain or CP from another source.
The only warning is; you won't want to get out of bed. It's the Rip Van Winkle of bedding. Make sure you can get some deep pocket sheets that are about 18"; Northern Nights makes those also.
It's worth a try since there's so much time to return it.
Hope this helps,
Rhonda, IN
Like you I bought a wonderful pillow top but a couple years after it was not comfortable.
Now we have a sleep number. I do like it as I can change the setting as I please. For now I can't see myself going back to a normal mattress.

When I can afford it, I'm going to get a Temperpedic bed -- people are raving about those & how their back doesn't hurt so much anymore.
Just my thoughts on it. Hope you find something that works well for you. God bless. Hugs, Lee
Also some specialty stores sell specialty items for your bed. When I had surgery on my hip I found one that allowed me to sleep on my back and was a bit elevated. I thought it might help me my neck. It didn't but they do have toppers for mattress.
Good luck. There is a lot out there you just have to find them. Keep in mind most can go back in the package and be returned it it isn't right for you. Just save packaging and receipt.
Wishing you comfort and a good nights sleep.

I have been looking at the 6 in theraputic foam topper and maybe a feather mattress on top. I had one once and loved it, but that was before I got hurt. I may save up for this combo and see what happens.
This would NOT be one of those things to scrimp on either. If you get a down one, make sure the loft amount is high (more feathers) and a good quality cover. You don't want to spend 50 or more dollars only to have it go flat on you after an hour.
I hope you find some relief. '

good luck!

Dvid.
@ David,
I know the sleep number did, keep that in mind David.
We got ours in a Sleep number store during a sale & it really was not any more expensive then a good mattress. I like mine & so does my husband.
If your considering it double ck. make sure they still have the same return policy & give a whirl. They say it takes a least one month for your body to adjust. We shopped for months for ours & asked around in the mean time.
Now as for the Temperpedic (sp?) I could not handle it, way to hard for me. I could not even use the memory foam pillow.
Even with the sleep number I will probably add a topper at some point. Its hard to find the right bed.
Good luck Dixe, Let us know what your decide. Sammy
