Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
CC, I am really confused at your way of thinking I am sitting here telling you and others are as well that suboxone works for pain. I just do not get why you just think it does not because what is in it. Since it has come up from time to time I would think after awhile you would think that there was some merit to it as so many are using it as a pain reliever. I know I have said this before and I got no answer from you but you talk about what you think works for pain and you want people to have a open mind when you give suggestions but you never want to return the thought of having an open mind. You think very closed minded on any thing accept your views for pain control.
Thanks for all of the input. I don't think my PMD feels that I am hooked as I have never given him any reason to think that. He has never asked me to sign a contract and has never had me submit to a UA or pill count. He filled my prescription as usual. He asked me to think about it. I don't think it's something I'll do. If he doesn't change/increase my meds, I'll just deal with it as best as I can.
I think you are making a wise decision. I know someone mentioned Methadone. I tried that for a couple months until I had to go in hospital. The nurses decided that it is "just for addicts", refused to give it to me to "get me off the pills" and left me to suffer until my release AMA was completed.
It depends on the quality of care! But in urgent situations, who needs extra complications.
OF COURSE, I found other meds that actually WORK. I'd be fighting the nurses if I was in the situation like some posters and found methadone to be the most helpful med.
Like others keep saying, we are all different.
REmember that doctors are practicing medicine. It is an art exactly because everyone's body is so different and there are so many medications, issues, and conditions.
Keep up your spirits.
Sunny
Anyway that's my understanding. On the other hand, alot of people like lladyfair have gotten great results. There are no perfect drugs. I just chose to skip over this one for now.
I feel so bad that you need more surgery. Keeeping you in my prayers.
It ain't fun at any age. But as we get older I think we recover a little slower. Course it could just be that I have started letting myself relax more after surgery so I don't know now if my comment makes any sense.
Oh well, still praying for you.
