Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Know what I mean?
Is it possible to live with Chronic Pain and have happiness?
That's the question?

We also can choose to find a healthy outlet for the anger and move on to another level. Is that happiness with chronic pain?

Happiness, for me, has always been so elusive. I find I have to have acceptance first and happiness follows. I don't know.
Good post.
We all suffer from many different types of pain and sorrow. We did not choose these daily struggles but we can choose how we react to them.
I always say to myself that I can either sit and complain about all of the terrible things in my life that I have to endure day after day and have it cause me and my family depression or.... I can choose to be happy and except that this is the life that God has given me for some reason and I want to choose to be happy and grateful for everything good in my life.
It doesn't hurt to try to live happy. Its all in OUR attitude. And when I am happy my whole family is happy!!!
Don't get me wrong, there are days that can't help but bring up the feeling of why me..... but I get rid of them as fast as I can. Just put a smile on my face and then just see what happens,
Take care my friends and gentle hugs,
Cindi
Are we talking about Happiness or Depression.. i think full heartedly that CP, and depression go hand in hand, and if you have problems with depression before the pain struck your life, then your getting a double whammy.. if your not prone to depression in your life prior to CP, then i believe once the pain is under some kind of control, your depression will ease as well...
As far as happiness goes, its hard to be happy when in such horrible day after day pain, which brings me right back to the big D-depression.. to me i think they are the same thing...
thanks for posting..~stinke~
like everything else, when we age or have a life change of any sort, we have to re-define concepts like happiness, contentment, life in general.
that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.
In the grocery store, the baby in the carraige in line in front of me; the look of softness of an infants cheeks and the wonder of the tiny little hands and the crystal clear eyes. Going outside, the white billowy clouds rolling across deep blue skies and collecting against snowcapped mountains. Looking down, I notice the amazing beautiful perfection and colour in a single flower.
I find happiness by going outside of myself and being in the moment, but it is not always easy to do. I have to keep reminding myself to do it. To keep expereincing the miracles around me. Some days I can't seem to do it at all.
That is why I love to garden and to paint. I have to sometimes force myself to get there, but once I'm there I can push the pain to take a back seat to what I am experiencing. Some days I will "pay for it" and make the migraine worse, but I figure that it was worth it.
