Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Listen, y'all..
While I appreciate support..
I'm not looking to be told " it's OK"..
I just want to apologize to those whose feelings I hurt.

Your advice was solid and so correct. I had CNN on all day on Friday and Saturday and then turned it off Sat. afternoon and I haven't watched the news since. I have read several articles on line, but only about the victims. They break your heart but I think we need to remember the victims and not the shooter. I hope he burns in hell.
I've read that some people are still crying hysterically and can't think of anything else. I think at that point, you need to get some help. We'll never forget the victims, but at some point you have to move on and celebrate life. I'm sure none of the victims would want us to sit and wring our hands and cry all day. That's just not healthy.
It's going to be a tough Christmas, though.
Chin up, sister! You didn't do anything wrong!
Sandy
Anyone that knows you should know your intentions. Those that don't know should be able to figure it out from the posts from members.
I understood your intentions completely and what you meant. No worries hun. :) Hugs...

Focusing on your famliy and helping the younger children cope is very important. Having the TV on too much would be harmful to the kids.
Yes all of America is in morning for the families and the mentally ill who are not getting the help they need. Too many tragedies are happening because of mental issues.
I have a 20 year old who is having a very hard time with this. He keeps trying to understand how a man/child his own age could kill a baby the age of his nephew.
Yes, take a break from the TV and take time with your families, these recent tragedies have affected us all. We need to help each other through these very difficult times.
Prayers are up for the victims, the families and everyone affected by the recent events.
Some of us survived episodes like this as children. All my classmates were killed. I still think God sent an angel to stand in front of me because he was firing strait at me until his gun was empty.
That was long before the WWW made this crude instant news. You won't find it anywhere on the net.
Does that mean it never happened? NO!
Does it mean that no one cared? NO - the community reached out to us and helped.
Back then it was an immediate community problem to handle. People NEXT DOOR stepped up and DID THINGS to make it better. There was no extra exploitation by the press and media.
Turning off the TV. Stopping this insanity from spreading is the best things we can do. I am so fed up with those who feed off every tiny detail and watch the TV all day to report to everyone they can about each thing they find out. I feel that is just using those poor people to gain attention.
There is a difference between praying for those involved and those who seem to thrive on each and every gory detail posting a report about each and every new "update".
I speak from my own experience. I would not have been happy to have the entire world reporting my name and details, interviews with me about why the bullets missed me.
That is from a survivor. I am sorry if some are offended but thankfully not to many have survived such horrific events. Thank God for that.
These things are still uncommon. The world has gotten small because of the computer. WE need to keep in mind that 60 years ago, no one in another state would know about this event. So ignoring the TV changes nothing.
I actually saw the wings of the angel standing there. Each bullet bounced off him.
I'm so glad you survived this and horrified that you had to go through it. I do believe in angels and God does watch out for us.
I agree with turning off the TV and not reading articles on the internet. Yahoo actually had an article about a hairstylist's encounter with the shooter. How pahetic is that? What's next, his dentist? his proctologist? His mailman? When will it end?
I do read stories about the victims. They all make me cry, but they make me realize how short life is and how this could happen to any of our children. And the one teacher- what a hero she was! She shielded the children from the gunman and many children escaped because of her. These are the people that we should read about- not the coward who did this.
