Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
She did not notice my cane, all she saw was a young woman in shorts and a tank top, that was it! Nothing else! Oh boy, I let her have it! WTF? I could look at a person that has a handicap sticker and not know what they have,..... What if they have heart problems? COPD? Whatever! Who am I to be disrespectful to people that I do not know??!!
Hu, the next time that this happened to you, let them have it! They will learn not to mess with you, OK? Take care,
Stop worrying about what others think and use the flipping spots! You have bad knees (and I'm sure other things must bother you). Stop putting yourself through needless pain. You are suffering enough.
I am sorry you encountered one of the eggheads of the world. How rude. How stupid it is for people to assume and judge because "you are young," as if only the elderly have the right to be sick or in pain. What a nincompoop.
I hope you are feeling better about things today. Water off a duck back, and all that.
Huggggssss to you.
Much love and understanding,
Lisa
One thing Ive learned in my 45 years of life is certain people are IDIOTS and this is something everyone has to live with, unfortunately. This is one of the reasons I do not have a handicapped sticker, and I need one. I have so many things wrong with my spine which is DDD, Spondylosis, two failed cervical surgeries, and now all of this is affecting my lower back along with Fibromyalgia. My husband keeps telling me I need one because sometimes my lower back and my legs get so bad Im afraid that I wont even make it up the stairs in my house. I know that if I get a sticker, people will look at me and wonder why in the hell I have it. On the outside I look fine, its what is going on, on the inside that is the problem. Because these people cannot see what is going on, on our inside they feel they have the right to be complete IDIOTS to us really ticks me off. I do know at some point in time I am going to have to get a sticker, but I am trying to hold off as long as I can.
You need this sticker; there is no reason why you shouldnt use it. Do not let the morons of the world stop you from using it. Trust me if they were in your body they would probably park in the fire zone so they could go into the store and feel justified. It is really sad that some people in this world feel they have the right to ostracize people because they feel superior. Just be strong and realize you are doing what is best for you and they can all go to hell, Kim.
Parking Nazi license.
I parked once in a handicapped spot and some guy parked behind me and waited for me to come out of the store because my sticker was not displayed properly. When I came out, he said that I was breaking the law and being discriminatory against handicapped people and I should go to jail and he called the police and he was not moving his truck until they got there. He was hoopin and walking and movin around and his wife was backing him up with her big mouth! He had a super jacked up Ford F350 truck with a handicapped sticker in it. Unless they give those out for being an asshole...I could not tell you what his disability was.
My handicapped sticker had falled off my rear view mirror and was laying on the seat! AND...he was so busy trying to give me the what for that he did not even notice that I was using my cane and my walker was folded up in the back of my truck. I continued to my car, opened up, picked up my sticker and said to him in the calmest voice
"When you are done being an ass, I would be happy to give you my spot"
People simply amaze me. I was feeling a mess one morning but had promised to go with my BF to take her cousins daughters shopping for school. These girls go without more often then not so I did not want to disappoint.
Anyways coming out there was a lady I would say in her 30s in a cervical collar & using a cane with 2 small children of her own. she could not seem to push the cart & stood in the entry way hunched over, very easy to see she was struggling.
I stood in the doorway waiting for my friend to finish cashing out & not one person stopped to ask if she needed help. Not even the employee who was at the door. I could not believe it as this lady stood there for the longest time & people looked back at her but no one stopped. she was leaninig on her cane & her kids hanging onto the cart.
Soon as my friend was done I went right over to the lady & asked if I could help her to the car. I felt myself so disappointed that not one person stopped the entire time I stood there. I did walk her & her children & helped her unload her car. On the way she spoke about her surgeries as she was on her 4rth & had both lumbar & cervical & RSD.
The young girls who were with me asked why did I help this lady? Did I know her? I said nope but she needed help & I would hope someone would offer to help me if I needed it. They thanked me for taking them shopping & ask if they could buy me a present someday. I said nope but you can remember this day & perhaps offer to help someone in need. That would be my gift.
What are we teaching our children when we walk past those in need our judge others such as you in your situation?
So sad that people cannot be just a bit more nice & take a bit more time to help one another.
In response to the lady I would have said yes I am handicapp & looks like you are too. Last I heard you can get hurt or become disabled at any age.
Its offensive to be spoke to like that, especially when you live in pain every day of your life. I'll bet you were steaming. I would be especially if it was that time of the month, lol.
Ain't life grand!
We just have to ignore stupidity as it comes in all shapes & forms.
God bless, Sammy
I would have just ingored that lady and walked away and let her be an idiot, some people can never admit when there wrong. I am sorry your going through all that
I strongly prefer to ignore them as they aren't worth any explanation.
I do have 2 friends who are guilty of this behavior. I try to teach them that not every disability is obvious and not every afflicted person is old as dirt.
Mind your own business people!
