I have been trying to get SSD and SSI for a while now.
I have been told I have
3 bugeing disks in my neck with nerve pain
OA in my neck ,spine , knee, both hips and foot.
Firbromyalgia
Myofacial Pain Syndrome
Scoliosis
there is more physical but you get it. All this has been documeted by MRI, x-ray or by another DR./ Specialist.
Also, I have had life long Anxiety and panic attacks. So has my grandmother , mother and now daughter.
In the last 5 years I have gotten depression and its gone from bad to reallly bad due to family problems and physical problems.
The DR. I have now, that I will be getting rid of ASAP has said after he saw me 1 time, that I am somatizeing. In other words , its all in my head. All my aches and pains are not real. They are maifested by decades of use of medicine. How the hell would he know? He couldnt.
This is what SSD and SSI are seeing and taking and running with that info.Cause they dont want to approve me for SSD or SSI.
This DR is so_____________________ fill in the blank.
Im so pissed off and depressed right now.
If I dont get help to survive I am as good as dead. I have NO way to support my daughter.
I havent worked in 10years. I am being forced off my pain medicine and I only have a GED level education. Before I was disabled I cleaned houses. I cant even clean my own house.
I am so so screwed.
If anyone wants to say something nice fine , if not Im blowing off steam.

I guess if they don't want to treat your pain they can say that and poof! its gone and not their prob! off to the shrink we go huh? thats messed up.
I have the doc's headed off at the pass because i already have a shrink and she dosn't think i'm depressed and my shrink used to be an MD so she can vouch that my pain isn't purly phycological thank got but any new speclalist i see trys to pull that one on me.

There is a company called Allsup that specializes in approving SSDI cases, and they might be able to help you. Do you have enough credits in your social security work history to get SSDI? If you do, go to www.allsup.com. They have a 97% success rate in approving people for disability, and if they don't think that you have a case, they won't take it, so check them out and see what happens.
In the meantime, you need to find a Doctor that is going to look at the whole picture and help you get the benefits that you need.
If you have MRI, CT's, etc... bring those to the new Doctor, also if those tests are older than a year or two, you need new ones, spinal issues progress very rapidly and getting new tests can also help your case. Get pro-active with this issue and try to get a new Doctor. Take care and I hope that things get better.

For whatever it is worth, I found it easier to get SSD for depression rather than try for back problems.I don't mean to say you can't get it with your diagnoses, I'm just saying it will be much easier sailing with the emotional disorders.

Tipper, at this point I would have to go back to work to earn more income credits in order to qualify for SSD again. If my lawyer doesnt take my case to district court its over for SSD.
I still have my SSI case and I am looking into another lawyer . I am not happy with the one I have now. He came highly reccomended. He is worthless.
Also, I have had my State Senator's office working on my SSD case and they now say they cant help now that I am going to district court because of conflict of intrest.
They really did try to help.
I feel doomed. But I refuse to give up. If I have to walk into court crying in pain and dragging my butt Ill be there. I cant give up. I dont have any choices left.
When the DR. put those insults in my Health Record I was depressed , but now I am just plain Mad. I am not crazy , lazy or otherwise fakeing my pain or my anxiety. HE should be ashamed to treat a person like he did me.

It makes me mad enough to spit that you even have to have a lawyer. These moneys you paid into the system were taken without your permission or control. I rankles my butt that they even call it a "benefit". Since when does claiming your own money amount to a benefit? There's too much semantics in politics.
