Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Hope things work out great for you!
My fear right now is that they will want to take the meds I'm on, away from me and I'll end up in worse shape and totally hopeless.
I know...I know...I shouldn't start anticipating trouble before the first appt.! I'm still hoping for one more script before I make my exit, though.
Hugs,
Cherry
feel empowered now, and not like a victim anymore? You should be
proud of yourself for taking the leap.Your friend, tooth
Best wishes, and I hope this works out for you. It seems right now, a move you had to make. I hope that you will be treated fairly and your pain will be managed.
David.
Talk honestly to the new doc and keep the attitude of empowerment that you had when you changed the appointment.
I was at a horrible pm place that wasn't bad when I started going there but got worse as time went by.
I finally found my 1st PM again who treated me best & since his rules were "no scripts on 1st visit" even for me, he told me to go back one more time just to get my scripts even tho I told him how they served drug seekers & how the doctor/owner was arrested.
That scared me death but he was right by telling me to not say ONE word to the place I was leaving so to not burn one bridge before you can get to the other.
I hope this helps even tho I know it's hard to say or do.
She reminded me that my doc isn't in today and I reminded her that I had called on the days she WAS in and even drove over there tried to hand over the meds that made me so sick and they wouldn't take them.
She said she'd send her this message with 'priority' on it. 'Sometimes she checks her messages when she's out'...who wants to hear that crap??? The nurse said she couldn't do anything without hearing from the doc.
GRRRRRR...I need one more script to get me through until settling into my old clinic next week. How do I deal with this? It's Friday and I told them this needed to be resolved before the weekend.
Whew...sorry for the rant,
Cherry
I had to do it with my 1st PM doctors approval as he didn't write me a script till the 2nd visit. He got into a thing where he helps local law enforcement and doctors so real CPers can get their meds so I had to follow his own rules for that one month & he told me he felt horrible to send me back to that place one more time.
The following month when I knew I never had to go back to the horrible place again, they were shut down by the police and DEA and they should have been but I did feel sorry for the real CP people I did see there bc I had my old doctor back & he then prescribed for me.
What about the ones with CP that didn't get a new doctor & were all stuck w/o meds or a doctor? That was so horrible.
I called my insurance and asked about what to do. I did have to list a new PCP, but it means I can see anyone at that clinic. And they have many!!!
The doc I've been seeing for 3 years has obviously chosen to stop prescribing for me and has not responded all week. I'm done!
Even if whomever I see in the future wants to get me off the meds, it will be better than the treatment I've experienced lately.
Man...I hate change.
Cherry
Hoping you found some pain relief before the weekend got here.
Good luck
She doesn't know I'm leaving her because of this ongoing bullcrap, but I am fast running out of the extra meds I had on hand. And if they can' prescribe on my first visit...I'm screwed!
GRRRRRR,
Cherry
