... in spite of living with pain "
.. a good suggestion for a topic.
It is so very hard to try to keep pisitivity as part of our mindset when we're in pain.
Obviously..
Sometimes when the pain is just too severe.. it's not possible to see the bright side of things..
But..
Sometimes..
When we manage to get the levels down to where we are able to have some control over our.. point of view..
It serves us to try to inject some positive thinking into our mindset.
One of the ways I TRY to do this..
That I do find helpful..
Is to make gratitude lists
You'd think you would run out of things pretty quickly..
If you don't take the details into account.
Liiiike....
Today..I might be grateful for Sight.
Including..
Colors. Shades of colors. My love's face. His smile his eyes
His eyes looking at me. Sunsets. A bird in flight..
Point is..
You can NEVER run out of things to be grateful for..
If you are attentive to the details.
( which some one once, famusly, said..God is in)
Now I have to go look up who said that.
Which I can do . Isn't that AWESOME?!?!?
Gratitude.
Hugs all.
( I have other ideas for this thread..
But.. don't want to hoard the subject.
Pile on. !!!

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Too bad my awesome gift of sight seems only to work in the hind sense of it.
Hahaha. Get it? Hindsight.
hahaha
Clearly..
For those of you to whom such things actually ARE ( clear, that is) ... haha..
Title should have read..
How to Have a Positive Attitude ...
In spite of living with pain. "
I love that through it all someone can still find my funnybone it's a trophy I like to share ;)
I go in and out with the gratitude list.........I use one when I need it the most. I find myself in the deepest darkest pit and remember to write a list.
You're right you will never run out of things to be thankful for. A strangers smile is worth a day's doom.
A way I fight the negative is to try to balance it. If I think or say a negative I have to think or say a positive.
Example: Today sucked! I am in the flair from h--- and no one around me understands. I feel alone and I could throw something at the wall right now. But I made myself a nice lunch and it warmed up just a little bit today.
This way the negative doesn't get to own me. Some days the negative wins, but most days I don't allow it :)

Sorry, y'all.
There was a time when I would have let such things keep me from coming back on for quite some time, due to embarrassment.
I just don't have all that ego any more
That..
And everyone here has always been so kind about my godaweful typing errors.
HUGZZZZZZZZZ
I'm sorry you're in an awful flare, dear friend.
I wish there was someone comforting and kind to you there.
I'll be thinking of you..
And sending positive. Hopes your way, bud.
Hugs
I appreciate how you find the humor in thi gs
I had started a gratitude book that my husband and I were going to put down at least one thing positive that happened that day. Sometimes all I could come up with is that we were still "Above the Green".
I need to get back to it. It is good to be able to read it when you are having a bad day. Helps you remember that there are many things to still be grateful for.
Wishing all positive moments to be grateful for.

Ha! Everyday that you can say you're on the right side of the grass ( the green side)
Hahahaha..like I had to clarify :-) :-) :-)
Anyway.. any day you can say that..
Means there's at least the potential to find something to be grateful for :-)
That's really nice that you're doing that with your husband.
Hugs

What a very lovely way to express and share gratitude.

I also try to practice a lot of gratitude. I heard this great question recently: "What if the only things you had tomorrow were the things you were thankful about today?" Being cognizant of all the good things in my life helps me make it through the bad things.
I also still hold out hope of miracle happening. I have been doing lot of reading on our lady of Lourdes, There is a fountain there in France where some people have been healed over the years. This poor saint suffered from Tuberculosis of the leg and she never complained. It is a condition that is way worse than the condition I have in my leg, and this lay suffered with the pain for years without any pain meds. It makes me feel like a weakling sitting here taking my pain killers to get by. You can look up the story or Our Lady or Lourdes France. I want to go there some day, or even order some of that spring water and pray for a miracle.
Also, knowing that we will not be in pain when me cross over into the next life gives me a lot of inner strength to press through each new day. This life is just a temporary journey. We will all be made whole in the next life. We are here to learn things. I have been learning a lot of new things since pain has crept into my life. I look forward to the day when we can all be made new. I hope I didn't get too spiritual for you all. I hope everyone is having a low pain, low stress weekend!
