hey there. i started to work a few years ago and i can only work part time. I got my ssi in January of 09. The meds im on right now have made such a difference in my life. thats why i have been able to work.

I work part time from home as a medical transcriptionist. For the most part I do okay but sometimes it is all I can do to do that.

I work full time in a physically demanding job.

I work full time in IT.

I cannot work due to chronic pain, depression and anxiety. I was a hairstylist for 25 years and it really took its toll on me. As well as a head on car crash and years of domestic violence. I am on SSD. My body has lost its templedom. Now I can barely take care of my apartment AND myself !! My Dr, asked me the other day if I got a boyfriend, I might be able to get off my anti-depressants ! I told him no that it would most likely cause me to double up on them !!! Hugs, Deb

ROFLMAO Debala!!!!!! You know, I am single too and live with my dog. I think that I rather have a dog (no offense to the married and coupled people here), than a man that is going to drive me nuts! LOL I feed my dog the same food everyday and he doesn't complain.
I can look like crap and he still loves me like I am beautiful.
When I get home from running errands, he welcomes me like I am the queen of England.
And so on........... :-)

I haven`t worked since 2005 because of my back. Before that I was an accountant and service manager for a water conditioning company. Now both my husband and I are in the process of applying for disability :(

I work at home also, for myself as a skin care professional, microdermmabraison, skin peels etc.for the past 10 yrs. I worked for 13 yrs for a Plastic Surgery Practiceand quit mostly to be home for my children but also because I'd been in so many wrecks (not my fauly) I am terrified to drive the 20 it took to get there.

My work has slowed down to next to the lowest point in my career, certain it's due to the ecomony. I think that God has His hand in it as well, because each time I see a client it sends me into a raging pain that no meds could stop, There is no way I could work full-time. I am thinking seriously about going on disability but on-line it said prepare to take 3-4 hrs to allow to fill out paperwork. My daughter said she's do it for me, I can't sit for 3-4 hours.

Prior to that I was in property management my favorite job of all.

I agree with you Tipper and Debala.........my goodness I cant imagine anything worse than that....lol!
I am single and proud!
I agree that my furry family just dont care how I look and infact love it if I have to stay in bed.!
And to those who still manage to work...be thankful, its certainly not through lack of passion or not wanting or even needing to work that stops me its the unrelenting chronic 24/7 pain that does it and I hate even single day of it.

I am a DARE Officer in the Army, so i guess it is full time LMAO
