Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I second everything RaggedyAndee said. Right on the money for me.
Can't add much after that!
Feel better soon. (((((hugs)))))
I read your post this morning and could not offer you any words of support nor any reasonable arguments to want to do this anymore. I was in the same place as you this morning. If there was a noose around my neck, I would have tightened it.
I don't want you to think that I ignored you. I just didn't want to drag you down any more than you already were. I hope you know you are in my heart.
Love you,
Friend
In peace and healing,
Wen
Goodness, I know the desperation in those words and that feeling. If you are taking Prednizone it can cause you to feel really despondent. I have had to take it often for MS Exaserbations as an IV treatment. It is a difficult drug to deal with emotionally. I find it helps when I know where my issues are coming from once sorted it makes dealing with it easier. Chronic Illness is a marathon, not a sprint, that's why Calgon moments of denial are justified.
When you get overloaded like you are right now do an activity to take your mind completely off your pain. Day dream, play a video game, meditate, make up a story about your favorite vacation, read a book, do any activity that you can immerse your attention fully into it. Keep at it until you no longer feel overwhelmed. When we focus on our pain it tends to fill our awareness, but if we fill our awareness with something else then we will forget for a time about the pain. It is a
way to get a respite and to get out of a slump.
Wishing you moments of peace. Hugs, Cathy
