Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I do understand where you're coming from, though. and you're right-it could be dangerous. A client once asked me to write cures and remedies for his natural health website. He didn't want me to include sources and told me I could make it up if I wanted to. Obviously, I didn't do it and went screaming in the other direction.
We are talking about a very serious disease. I also have other pain - from trauma that cannot be cured with any kind of home remedies. I know most people are in the same boat here, one way or another.
I apologize for getting so upset, but this kind of post was like sticking a knife in a deep wound and twisting it. I cried myself to sleep last night, but I don't blame most of the posters, and my sense of humor was a little off with the raisins. But seriously, people in RA have actually had people tell them that is the cure, so one never knows.
I have always been very careful about what I eat, and have been into health foods for over 40 years, long before it became a fad. But Rheumatoid Arthritis is a genetic illness, and the bad whiplash I had triggered asthma, and it is likely the allergy shots I had triggered the gene for RA. So nothing to do with eating. On the other hand, at least I don't have to feel like I did something wrong with my lifestyle choices. And mostly I can accept my disability. Last night was just the wrong night to have read this silly post.
Thanks for those who did dig deeper, like asking for sources, and who have been through this kind of thing with other disorders. And I had to cut back on my Omega 3s, because I was bruising so badly. I guess there is too much of a good thing.
"The word arthritis simply means inflammation the joints" (Nothing simple when people are in excruciating pain from it)
and
"The condition is very popular these days. " (What, like fur-lined boots and all-inclusive resorts?)
I was completely offended by the statements
"The condition is very popular these days."
"The word arthritis simply means inflammation the joints."
It is BS at best. And this poster in known for nothing but outrageous lies. Just click on VIEW MORE POSTS to see some of the total BS this poster has told.
I understand how you were hurt by this nonsense "article". I did not want to leave you feeling so all alone because I have been there with you.
Arthritis is a horrible disease. It causes terrible damage and horrific pain and suffering. To even SUGGEST that eating anything will CURE it is beyond mean. It is thoughtless and uncaring to post such nonsense here where people with intractable pain are suffering horrific pain every single day.
I hope you are feeling better. I understand what it is like to listen to this stupid stuff and become very angry. There are still people who tell me that some exercise will fix me, or eating some whole wheat will solve the underlying disease which is caused by gluten.
Please take care. I am in pain all the time from arthritis. I know how bad it hurts. You are the most brave caring person I have met. It takes a great deal of courage to do all you can to live when this is your daily struggle.
The real angels are the ones persevering in this struggle with pain living the struggle everyday.
