Sounds like you should go back to your dentist they may have left a nerve exposed which is causing all the pain. You should not still be in that much pain afetr 6 months I would def check into that. sorry for your pain.

also at your chemist while you wait for appointment is called oral eze takes the pain away for 3 hours.
or rub cloves on-long gums.

Talk with your dentist and/or oral surgeon about the possibility of an abcess, which can cause excrutiating pain (even your doctor can help you with an abcess, but will still refer you to the dentist or oral surgeon for more throrough treatment). Neurontin or nortriptyline aren't going to help the pain from an improperly performed root canal; only proper dental procedures with the roots fully clipped and denervated and all possible infections completely cleared are the solution. Actual pain medication may help (as may oral gel or clove oil), but if you have an infection, you need antibiotics first before the pain meds will really do much of anything (infections seem to override the pain meds everytime).

If you've had the same procedure on the same tooth repeatedly, it's time to find a new oral surgeon/endodontist. Ask your densist for a new referral.

My husband went through this last spring; it took two root canals (second one performed by a different endodontist than the first), a couple of rounds of heavy duty antibiotics and throrough cleaning of the resultant abcesses to fully repair what the first endodonist managed to create (an endodonsit who obviously failed both the basics of sanitary technique and how to identify the root of a tooth and remove it).

I did go to several endodontists they say the root canals are done well and no sign of abscess! No swelling etc! Please help! It's excruciating!

I do not know if this will help, but try rinsing your mouth with a combination of warm water, crushed aspirin, and salt. It helps. Also, there is a topical for gum pain called Anbesol. I have had problems with nerve pain after root canals. Please get some help. At the very least, they should help you with the constant, throbbing pain.

Try some clove oil--you can get it at Health Food stores, you might also just ask a Health Food store if they know of any other herb that you can rub on it to ease up the pain. In the meantime, I would jus get into a different dentist (at this point, to have them look at it) to get immediate relief I would head to an urgent care clinic or to your local ER--I just asked one of my bestfriends who is a nurse at our ER--and she said that if you stress to them that you will be making an appt with a dentist thta they will give you a shot or something for pain--possibly write you a script so you can get some relief until you can get into a dentist.
