Call your county medical society. They may know of somebody.

I have a twenty four year old in a similar situation who has mental issues. She does work however. She does or did have a boyfriend who was over here a lot. I didn't care for their nighttime arrangement but you are helpless if you do not have a spouse who supports your concerns. I do resent you slamming your wife on this forum. She is doing the best she knows how at this time. Do not let it become a wedge in your marriage. This is a hard age to raise kids this age. As my spouse says, they will grow up. Don't give up on your daughter.

As for restrictions on access to narcotics, let me assure you it is the norm nationwide. Very few people are able to get more than a thirty day supply and you have to go back every thirty days for awhile. This expense also comes with pain management contracts and luck of the draw ua's. My inital ua with my back specialist was over $500. Granted the insurance greatly reduced it, but I was shocked.

Hey really sorry YOU resent me slamming my wife on this forum I thought this was a place to let it out and get support from other people and that had been my experience here if you don't like what I have to day stay away, I sure don't need to hear it from you , who do you think you are to tell me anything . I am a very suck person who shoulda left 23 years ago but stayed and gave my family the best I could offer now I am sick and all I expect is the same in return, like food to eat when my pain is so great I can't feed myself I could go on and on but all you are doing is ruining the only good day I have had in months , do no think you know a thing about my life and if you can't be supportive I would apreciate you keep your opinion to your self

I do not retract my statement but in no way was I not saying I do not support you and understand your frustrations with the "system".

Mark I think what Melinda was talking about was how we as pain patients tend to take our frustrations out on our loved ones. Sometimes we forget that they are dealing with major changes to the "family lifestyle" and can be just as hurt and afraid as we are. Consider that your wife is suddenly faced with being the primary wage earner, caretaker of you, in addition to wife and mother.

None of us know what the others are going through. The bad part of the internet is that we can share only what we want and even that is from our view point. The rest the reader has to guess at...sometimes right and sometimes wrong. But you have to assume that if someone is taking their time to answer your post that they mean well.

As to the doctors & insurance. Yep I think the whole country is dealing with crackdowns on narcotic abuse. Florida is one of the big ones in the news for several reasons, but it's everywhere. And it's something that almost everyone of us has been touched by in some way. And the cost of medical care/prescriptions is also a big problem. I think Federally they can only write a one month script for certain schedule meds. What some doctors will do is give you additional scripts with a "do not fill before" date. Otherwise it's an office visit every month. I have to go every month because of my no-fault insurance and the doctor and I have a standing joke about this. He would see me every 6 months or if needed.

So maybe consider what Mindy and others have to say. It's worth thinking about. And remember that most people do not know everything about your situation so explain instead of getting angry.
