Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I do hope you will not let this slide away....that you will take action...as someone else said, you could very well save the person after you.
gentle hugs....
I would demand a meeting with this pharmacist's supervisor and also demand an apology. All he had to do was verify the script with the doc and that would have been the end of it. He was very unprofessional and deserves to be fired. You have been a loyal customer for 10 years and you derserve better. Go get him! Sic! Sic!
"Heartbreaking Ordeal".
I am worried about your emotional being.
You have the right to have a prescription filled without hassles or being found "guilty until you prove you are innocent"!
What is this world coming to?????
There must be a little tiny kernel of anger in there somewhere.
Try to internalize that anger into your sense of him being an a**. Tell yourself "I am valuable just the way I am and worthy of being treated with respect".
If you can, print out articles on CP and your DX to have in your purse. Also, print out articles on how to spot the addict for the professional and lay person.
When people act like a**es, take them out to educate the world.
I used to dread the monthly "ordeal" also. I presented articles so often to every pharmacist, that they all treat me with total respect now. When one tried to claim that post op meds were illegal, I had my article ready to teach that young woman about how CP really works.
If we accept that we are the ones who must do the educating, it can be more like changing our little part of the world for the better.
Just the other day, an elderly lady walked up to me to ask about CP and feeling so embarrassed at her "old" pharmacy and how she loves the people at "mine". I gave her a self addresses stamped envelope and asked her to write to the corporation to explain the difference. (I have letters too. She took one, signed it, and gave it to the manager.)
We need to remember to compliment when service is great as well as point out rotten service too!!!
Hope you feel better soon.
.
i do thank good pharmacists for their help. i'm also using CVS which years ago wasn't as good, but i think something has changed, maybe more training...
a lot of them are so used to seeing the same scrips - anti-depressants are highly prescribed, anit-anxiety, and all the "old age" meds...plus all the bad press
