on medicaid too!!! and i know how you feel. they give us medicaid but then nobody wants to take it {doctors} i was lucky it only took me a couple months to find a dr that was a godsend.stick with it and i hope you find a dr tht will help

i have been unable to find a doc that will take medicaid at all. Forced to go to clinics for the moment. I am on my second disability claim to try and get medicare coverage cause medicaid mainly works at the pharmacy and hospital and the hospital won't treat chronic pain. Not the first time I thought I'd feel better if I could lose a body part. I'm with you...hang in there!!!

That just sucks! Sorry you hurt so DARN bad. I too have felt like, JUST REPLACE MY SPINE ALREADY. No luck with that...not really sure I want to be paralized though either. But at the time, that is definately what I want done! Some other organs can go with it too.- !!! Persistence pays off so keep your fingers crossed and I hope you find a doctor who will take excellent care of you.

Aww I'm sorry you're having so much trouble.
Since you're in a big city tho, have you tried just googling for doctors that take medicaid? I'd also ask around to see if there is someone you know or from extended family or friends that is on medicaid. Alot of times a doc will take you if you're referred by a friend that sees them. Dunno why, but seems to work. Hang in there, don't take more morphine and try some other things like epsom baths, ice, heat, etc to help a bit. Might 'take the edge off'. Wishing you speedy relief.

Another option is to go to a University sponsored hospital, they usually have the best Doctor's and they have clinic's were they see patient's. Checked that out and see if it helps.

I am so sorry about your situation. I don't have any advice, but I do hope the pain calms down soon and that you are able to find a doc asap!

Ive looked all over for docs that take my insurance around me. No luck or denied. Or can't pay the damn bill! Really, its around 300$ and I just can't do it. I feel so broken.

Have you tried teaching hospitals??? I do not know the State of New York, but I am sure that there are plenty of teaching hospitals in your State, and they offer some of the best medical care in the Nation and they do take Medicaid. I know that you are in Buffalo, but I don't know what City is close to you.... Start researching teaching hospitals in your area and try to get an appointment in one of their Neurology clinic's, they will be able to help, but you need to do the research first. If you need help doing this let me know.

This may not be the answer for everyone but i know it was hard for me because my doctor doesn't take my medicaid as an primary so I picked up blue cross as a second insurance and now i can go and see anyone and pretty much get any test. now it isnt cheap paying all these premiums but it does ease my stress on the insurance issues, and if you think about it after you pay the 20% co payment with medicaid, and when you get the second insurance they pick up that 20% and so that helps with the blue cross premium and if you go alot to the doctor it might pay for itself

I think Tipper had the best suggestion. NY is crazy with teaching hospitals, and before I got disability and Medicare my doctor suggested the same thing. He also said that the clinics in these teaching hospitals have some of the best doctors. It's worth a shot, and I know the stress over this is probably making your pain worse. I really hope you get the care you need! And yeah, there are days when I wish I could escape my body for a few hours to get relief from the pain.

i know how you fel. i also on medicaid in ohio the worst state i feel. i live close to 100 miles to the big cities with universitys and the best one in my stste is clevalnd clinic and that is over 4 hrs or so from me. i cant drive that far,

most of the university is either to long wait list like 8 months or more, or you have to have a dr referal that sucks... heck i dont understand.... things why can we go to who we want to. i mean our reg dr arent heping us and then we have to get them to refers us and that they wont do.

i hope you the betr and maybe like trip said maybe ny is differnt and i dont no about florida. when i use to live there you could go and see as you pls.

here in ohio to find a good one or see a specasilist you have to be refered. also people in my area they dont like to share they docotor thing they you taking something from them. i live in a small town..

OMG! Just yesterday I said I want to cut this leg off!! I have said it tons of times! I would rather miss a leg than live with this pain anymore. I have gone through all the pain management offices in the area. And my regular doc does not perscribe. All my docs say only pain management can give me narcotic meds. Well long story I wont go into it, but I saw a vascular doc today to rule out vasculitus. She said I am fine there but she said the neuropathy is severe and I need to see my neurologist. (she gave me percoset, the percoset is working right now but not on my pain, it just has me high where I dont care but I still feel the pain!! Well I saw my neurologist on the 7th and a dead fish has more personality than he does!! He wrote me a years perscription for Lyrica and sent me away!!! I even extednded my hand to shake it he refused it!!!! Well the very next day I had an errosion on my leg and it was running clear liquid constantly, so I went to the ER and have been in excrutiating pain since. So now what do I do???
I mean I am very very lucky that I have both medicare and medicaide and where I live everyone takes both. My problem is my personality and I dont get along with doctors. So i dont know my next move. But I need help for this pain or I will go crazy!!

Hi was this bill through a dr's office or hosiptal because most hosiptals have whats called Charity Care and they go by your income and what you have to put for utilities and so, I would just go in the ER see what a dr can do for you. I know also some hositpals have clinics in the hosiptal itself and maybe can do something like that so charity care can help pay for your bills. Hope this helps
